DNS, 01 Mar 2017Another useless gimmick like the curved screens on the gala... moreNot a useless gimmick. Curved displays are. YOUM announcement in 2013 basically initiated foldable displays that was shown to us since CES 2011. This would help shape and minimize phablet/tablets footprints. We can't be looking at slab designs forever.

Whe... moreAir view isn't relevant anymore after the always on displays so it makes sense why they dropped it with the curved displays, eye scroll was a good thing to show off but they removed it as it was not completely perfect in low light especially with people who wear glasses. But they didn't stop adding amazing features like you can take a long screenshot by scrolling through the whole page. I will find the Samsung Internet browser better over chrome and others. Some features can be gimmick but spending that much on a phone is also a gimmick so some unique gimmicks are well expected.

Where is it now on Samsung's latest smartphones? Not even their flagships have it anymore. Same is through with the eye scrolling feature of the S4 (I think S3 didn't have it)

A Foldable phone Or A Smart phone Flip Phone?

Producing these kind of screens is a very costly affair for Samsung and LG. You can't expect them to come at your price. Even the dual curved screen phone isn't available in that price range. S6E's replacement screen itself costs 10k and even more and you are expecting phone with foldable screen at 15k. Nothing to hurt you but newest innovation doesn't come cheap.

Really hope they use this tech to make the phone footprint smaller, rather than just the screen larger. It's fine with a fat phone in my pocket, just don't make me carry a huge plank.

This is what innovation means. But this innovation should also come to low end phones.
If it's high end Am not going to buy but will definitely go on read about this eagerly and (RE)search whether any company make it possible for me to buy one device for below rupees 15000

The thing 99.9% worries the most about today, damaging the display. When Samsung finally releases the optimal solution to protect that fragile display, it's a useless gimmick? :)
