This is a fake screen bezel as Apple will be removing the 'home' button in the next iPhone to make way for the larger screen size.
Also, Apple is on the verge of upgrading to Full HD services (1080p) in it's iTunes store so it is very safe to expect a 16:9 ratio screen.

i guess you could get a better idea if you measure the size of the central button. i guess that would remain the same, cause it's ergonomically calculated and i think it's the same size for 3g and 4. i don't have an iphone at hand, but if you would measure its diagonal and calculate a scale for the photo, you would get a better guess.

thin bezel like that will only lead to loooads of accidental screen touches while holding the phone especially with the capacitive touch screen like this. Useless apple as usual :)

Watch, Apple is gonna say, "You're holding it wrong." with this. Why? Because since the screen is all the way at the edge with those thin side bezels, peoples' fingers (the hand that is holding it) are gonna keep touching the screen on the sides making it tap. Haha, just watch.

I'm still wondering when the N8 will get a browser that is responsive and can optimise text like Safari. No need at all for Flash on a mobile. I've tried using Opera for browsing, and quite frankly, it sucks as much as the N8 browser.

I'm glad GSMA is picking up on all possible leads but I don't think we should make too much of this. There's no guarantee it's a part of any particular product.
Also, isn't iPhone 4's screen a little smaller than 3GS?

Considering those new gestures in the forthcoming os update are supposed to eradicate the need for a home button I think this is likely to be fake
