BTW, PS4 is from Sony, Japan and still, it isn't only thing with 4 moniker lol, we have galaxy S4, note 4, surface pro 4, xperia z4 and BMW Z4.

I had to surrender my s7. I went with iPhone 7plus. It's boring and heavy and can't touch my Samsung. Now I'm locked in to a contract and can't change back to the 8 coming in April. Can't wait to ditch this apple product.

Even buildings avoid using 4th floor, replaced with 3A for 3rd floor and 3B for 4th floor for example. The aversion to 4 is similar to western superstition about 13.
However, for Oppo to be superstitious now, I think it is a little late since OnePlus 3 means 4 in total!

Likewise who would pay $1000 for a Samsung S8 with a minor performance increase on the SD835 and 4GB Ram? It may be worth it with the Exynos chip plus 6gb Ram but otherwise I shall be waiting for Note 8.

Well, one of the first things to get out of the way is the name – it might not be called the OnePlus 4. According to reports, OnePlus might skip the number four and go straight through to five. Why? Simple: in China the number four is a sign of bad luck. And OnePlus doesn’t want any of that.
This means the OnePlus 4 will probably be called the OnePlus 5, though the rumoured specs, hardware and changes will all be the same. Why is OnePlus being all superstitious? Unclear at present; plenty of Chinese brands have released phones with the number four in their name – Oppo and Xiaomi, for instance.
