Interesting fact, do you know that the Playstation was originally a project between Nintendo and Sony, to create an accessory allowing Super Nintendo to read CD-ROMs. The project was cancelled, and Sony decided to make it the basis of its own console.

The key driver has always been about the games. The name of the game is the game. And Nintendo has a ton of IP for it and usually fun.

Nintendo arrived there with Famicom which was 8-Bit.
On that time, SEGA was beaten badly by US people, Until Genesis (Mega Drive) Arrival which was 16-Bit.
Play Station then, catches eyes.
The reason behind Game Consoles' Success is Graphic(Higher the Better) and Title (The more the Merrier).
It's simple. Real Changer by Nintendo arrives home. Why not to buy? As we know Nintendo since our Parents childhood.

It's games also don't just consist of generic ego-shooters and FIFA which is the same since forever just with updated players and leagues.

Interestingly enough, the Switch itself had its own set of haters who simply measured it by tech specs and said it would never take off, compared to the tech specs of PS4 or Xbox.

mir, 07 Mar 2017Of course it would sell well. There's a lot of tech channel... moreThat strategy works well for samsung galaxies, apple iphones, and Sony playstations. So I think Nintendo did well in making "friends" with youtubers instead of fighting against them as they had in the past.
