Everyone knows hd ready tvs sux. qhd for tvs is the same.
Since a lot of people don't understand this, they also think it's the same for smartphones. Basically, its easier to sell it saying it's 4k than "something in between FullHD and 4k" because its what the mainstream peeps know.

BTW I've never understood why Sony... moreQHD is the worse of both world. Not good for movies (irregular resolution), not good for VR (still heavily poxelized), not good for regular phone use (there is very littleast differece between 400 PPI and 530 PPI in they eyes of most).
Sony did that right, the only thing they did right. Of course they disallow this resolution for VR, disallowing netflix VR , so they managed to turn a good thing in almost a negative. But that's what you expect from a Sony. Turning good ideas to almost bad.

And the good thing the IPS LCD on Xperia XZ Premium doesn't degrade as bad as OLED display.

BTW I've never understood why Sony doesn't embrace QHD (best of both worlds) for it's flagship smartphones. It's either 4K or 1080p (one extreme or the other)! :[]
