what i really like about p10 is that it actually improved those areas, where P9 left. P9 undoubtedly best phone for still photography, what it lacked was 4K video recording. with Improved kirin chipset and 4K video recording with optical stabilization makes P10 phone with score of 10/10. And with its design its a absolute stunner. Good Job Huawei

Before Leica, Huawei's phones were not known for their photography. Yes, they are not on S7 level or the Pixel's level but, we have to give credit where credit's due.

AnonD-404798, 10 Mar 2017Pocketnow unbiased ? (facepalm) Yeah, right. But Juan Bagnell is pretty unbiased, and so, he handles most of the reviews. Can't say the same for Jaime, he pretty much sucks. Still, it's not like DxO Mark is unbiased, they seem to give Samsung phones a much higher rating them they should...

Also majority of people irrespective of phone use them for taking pictures for sharing on FB or insta which will compress it anyways. So people want something pleasing to eyes. Sony may have good pics but they are irrelevant for majority of users if they aren't pleasing to their eyes. So yeah a phone should just be as simple as point and shoot. I can't comprehend why can't a layman do it so I assumed that he was talking about manual mode

Since the P10 camera was used on Mate 9, Huawei had time for optimizations. The p10plus while having better hardware I'm not so sure if Huawei has yet optimized it to its best.

Then dxomark and stuff won't only test it at 8mp.

P10 plus and xz premium might be at loggerheads this year leaving S8 slightly behind, even with dual pixel impressive low light capabilities and star of the show last year's (S7edge).

Appu2, 11 Mar 2017Huawei p10 with aperture 2.2 has managed to climb up the c... moreIt's not about aperture size. Nexus 6P with f2.0 scored 84, and its successor, the current best camera phone - Google Pixel, with f2.0 (same as the 6P), scored 89.
LG G4 with f1.8 got 83. The successor, G5 and V20, with the same f1.8 aperture lenses, got a score of 86 and 85, respectively.
iPhone 6s Plus with f2.2 got 84. The successor, iPhone 7, with OIS + f1.8 aperture lens, got a score of 86, still behind those with f2.0 and f2.2 aperture cameras
It's not about the aperture size alone, it's all about how good the sensor is, how good is the processing, and how good the overall quality of the results are.
And no means of fanboyism, but my prediction is that the XZ Premium and/or XZs is/are gonna be the first to breach the 90 score mark. I have my hypothesis to have these scores:
G6 - 88
XZs & XZ Premium - 90
But don't take that for granted, as it's just my own prediction

Anonymous, 11 Mar 2017So you expect a layman who walks to a store to be proficien... moreDid he even said you use the Manual Mode? I myself used an XZ in stores running Nougat, and I played some time with it, used the camera in S. Auto at 20mp, and took a photo of the written text beside it under an indoor lighting condition, and taking it with bare hands, I got excellent level of details. Zooming details were so insane, it's almost microscopic level, whether you like it or not, it's what the results are shown. Doing the same with the S7 Edge, and is just nowhere close to comparable. Details are easily lost at about 75% zoom, and the text is just pixellated, not even that sharp as they are advertising it. Yeah it has way less noise, but the XZ's noise is only noticeable when you zoom in so close, and either way, level of detail is still insane, and that's what matters the most for a flagship. Besides, taking time to play with Manual Mode, you can easily achieve incredible photos with the XZ. So before you come up with a conclusion, I suggest that you try it first, hence DxOMark won't be giving XZ an 87 if it doesn't deserve it
