Xiaomi Mi 6 tipped to feature the Sony IMX400 sensor

11 March 2017
Sony's latest imager does wonders inside the Xperia XZ Premium, seems odd for Sony to share it with Xiaomi this soon.

I'm getting a serious iPhone 5s vibe from that rear camera setup

AnonD-39937, 11 Mar 2017Sony never shares the exact sensor they use in their top of... moreIt's weird that even though they usually keep their top sensor exclusive for a while for their flagships. The 12mp sensors that they make for Samsung and Google take overall better looking photos.
The flagship still take great photos but just lowlight is not good.

Anonymous, 11 Mar 2017Other sensor would have a different model number...It's a rumour, not an official specs sheet.

But I don't think it'll have imx 400 coz it is sonys latest and will be exclusive to xzs, better optimize same 12MP Sony sensor from Mi5s /Google pixel which has bigger pixel size or if Sony updates 12mp sensor then latest.

Mi flagships always have one of the latest sensors. Was just reading about Sony mobile sensors on Wikipedia to know that only Mi5s has the same sensor as pixels.

Hope there's no version for 32gb internal memory with 3gb/4gb of ram, just stick with 64gb storage with 4gb of ram or 128gb with 6gb of ram. its 2017 already, not 2016 or 2015 smartphone technology/specifications.

Imx 386 is a terrible sensor, even by last year's standards.....
A different version of imx 400 is more likely coz sony never shares their own flagship's sensor....

As a mi5 user simple advice to all.

Yes hardware is good. (Display , battery life , build , general performance).

But software is at times cringe worthy and no timely updates , miui eats half the ram available and you may experience app crashing at times (atleast faced a bit on my 3gb ram mi5 )

So choose wisely ( I will still say stock Android gives best experience , my old phone was Moto x)

Sony never shares the exact sensor they use in their top of line phones. Maybe Mi6 will also have a stacked sensor like XZ Premium, but a different and smaller one.
