Guys, it's just a rumor which most likely won't be true. Most probably it's intended to switch attention from Xperia XZ Premium (which supposedly to have a good price tag for its class) to Samsung's doubtful S8 (look at not convenient fingerprint sensor placement, overall not very attractive design and rumored high price tag). Preorders on Xperia XZ Premium already open in some countries and looks like Samsung jealously wants to switch attention to its own unannounced flagship. If they've developed this feature before why it becomes known only after Sony announcement?

U dnt knw the firs... moreyou can use it in both! maybe u are unaware of the other use of higher processing rates of images... sorry, i am well aware of photography. that's why i am sharing these... if you disagree just put your comment... maybe you are new to photography, try to read also science of light. you may share your idea to samsung or divulge the technology to user to make us aware... and not being deceived by other sites showing inappropriate info.

JordanBaby, 17 Mar 2017"Not the same sensor as the XZs and XZ Premium" which means... moreYes, that's the reason why the S7E's and Pixel's camera was rated above XZ in DxOmark, with half the pixel count. So according to you is XZ's camera so inferior to that of Z2's?

ssbatman21, 17 Mar 2017Qctually the sensors in s8 are made by themselves. Isocell....nope, Sony made them thats why the latest xperia will get the latest processor (snapdragon 835)

kinda like a trade for them, Sony exchange their cameras/sensors for samsung's processor

Someone Else, 17 Mar 2017So, by your logic, just because a report about the 1000fps ... morebecause of development on image processing and writing speeds! i absolutely negate you on dual camera in front... it's useless... you can either utilize same or common image capturing technology... the question is how to put reflective light without distracting the eye... then they use the IR which is less visible to the naked eye...

"The camera is said to retain its 12 MP resolution, but this time the Korean company added DRAM enabling the super high framerates." That's pretty clever, Samsung you tricky dog you lol

The 3.7mp camera... morebecause they deceive customers (maybe for competitors to hide the tech).. iris scanner is tagged as the small led in the upper left opposite side of front camera... it's absolutely wrong! the reality, it's the front camera that captures the iris image

Yeah I'm clever, but if it's true, I highly doubt it can even match the XZs and XZ Premium's 960fps Slow Motion video quality

Is it because Sony s... moreIf Samsung isn't copying Sony, then they should've had some rumors about this way before the XZs and XZ Premium are announced. And they even did the same thing; putting a DRAM in the sensor - you call that "not copying?" Think of it again, Samsung has copied all of its competitors' ideas, primarily Apple and Sony as secondary, and it's no surprise that they just did it. In fact, I call Samsung "a greedy a**h*le b*tch" for owning a competitors' patent and nagging all of the needed materials to make up a 2017 flagship phone just to give priority to their inferior devices. But Sony is going to trash Samsung soon anyways, so why should we worry? Even Chinese brands are starting to take over of the world already, especially Huawei and Oppo, and along with Sony, Samsung and Apple's glory days are over

Sony invented 960fps Slow Motion video recording on smartphones by using an additional DRAM on the sensor itself, and Samsung copied it for doing the same damn thing, just with 1,000fps (in 480p quality lol)
