AnonD-57516, 17 Mar 2017The DSLR and other point to shoot cameras can R.I.P.No they would'nt...
Any 500€ DSLR or point and shot will trash the 1000€ S8,and the same is true for the 500€ video camcorders.
Sadly, most people they will buy the S8 doesnt have(and never had) any other photo/video equipment in their live besides their smartphone,so they will not know this... and what's worse, they will spread that nonsense.
I call that "sour grape" symptom, because it is.People that never had opportunity(read money) to buy decent camera or even 300€ camcorder, these days are going overboard to buy the highend phone. So there must be some kind of consolation for themselfs.
P.S.sorry to the poster,I started reply but spontaneously went off topic.

Someone Else, 17 Mar 2017So, by your logic, just because a report about the 1000fps ... moreI assume it was not being developed before..
Sony makes cameras. Sony makes movies. Most powerful cameras maker..
Samsung is not...

AnonD-633729, 17 Mar 2017May be he don't have a tv. Poor boy.Nope. I like to watch my videos on my phone. I do have a monitor but that's not something i can carry everywhere. I don't have a tab because I don't want a tab. It's all about preference.

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2017Why you suddenly talk about the red light? The 3.7mp camera... moreThe way the iris scanner work (at least in the Note 7) is a beam of near-infrared light (or invisible red light, as you call it) directed at the person's eye. Based on the article, the Galaxy S8 will have two front cameras. One for taking pictures, and the 3.7mp one is for improving the accuracy of the iris scanner. The 3.7mp front camera is not the iris scanner itself.

Someone Else, 17 Mar 2017So, by your logic, just because a report about the 1000fps ... moreReally? Report? Rumors? I wonder how many of those G6 and XZP had before the show... keep encouraging yourself. Right until Samsung is pushed into another mess. Just so U know, they can intentionally add an under developed feature just to impress flag bearers like you, then blame it on something else. Hope it's not disaster

AnonD-621510, 17 Mar 2017And why 1000fps is a gimmick? it is good in night visioning... lowering pixels also helps to attain this.

Stallion, 17 Mar 2017i wonder whats next after iris scanner???actually the red light emitting diode is not iris scanner but infrared commonly used in night vision CCTV and network cameras... they used the so called "black light" since this is not visible to our naked eye instead of normal flash.

1000fps! wow... maybe this is enough to create a real night vision apps by capturing 1000fps and combine every 50frames to 1frame. i assume this would result to 20fps on screen with brighter images...

According to the source, it is not a Sony sensor.. It is a Isocell one.
Sony presented this in the beggining of February ( San Francisco).
There were nothing abiut this before Sony showed this, so it is impossible for 2 different companies to have same idea, do it same way.
Since april/16 there were rumors about high screen/body ratio on iphone. Also screen as fingerprint sensor..
Samsung makes great products, but Samsung get all the rumors about what others may do and do it all before others OEMs.

Christian, 17 Mar 2017And I was wondering what will be the next thing in the spec... moreAll it takes to raise the price of Samsung, LG phones and the likes to $1000 and above is....believe it or not, Apple has to raise the price of their phones to say $1500 and above. A large section of people will talk about value in Samsung, LG etc and keep buying their phones. No need to actually justify with hardware or software. With regards to Apple, as long as they don't remove the bitten apple from the back of their phones, people will keep buying them irrespective of their insane prices.
