Almost all top brands use Sony sensors made to their requirements for their flagships. So what's an issue here for Sony's fans? Why and how it can be termed as a copy?

Hopefully the S8 will be able to make this feature useful unlike Sony which makes you press a button to record 0.18 seconds of slo mo, which almost defeats the purpose.

Would it hurt them to just throw in a slightly higher resolution camera and bump the frame-rate down just a little? 12mp is pathetic (now) compared to other phones. Just an idea. little disappointed :/

This feature of shooting high framerate video has to be developed with the phone hardware and takes a lot of time. So, and unless Samsung knew that Sony was about to have that spec in their Xperia phone some months ago, it's not called copying...
You just cannot copy something that is hardware related in 3/4 months, it has to be in their checklist when they are developing the phone.
