Most likely more to focus on marketing reasearch ad market development. In that apple doesn't feel it's selling well enough in china so it needs to research how to get the chinese market to part with their money.

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2017Even if you don't like Apple, you gotta admit what they did... moredon't worry , I wouldn't be surprised if Crapple will be like : Hi new employees , thanks to our generous investment in those R&D centers you academics attended enabled you to get our unique professional education and knowledge , now in return give us 80% of your pay check for the next 5 years , although just fraction that should cover a bit of our great expenses .
you missed key word *investment* , they will get their money back at least in five times bigger sum .
