JBL, Bang and olfusen, and AKG are among the best brands in the audio world among audiophiles. It's a big move from samsung that might actually pay it's possible the AKG earphones are going to be one of the best.
Sony on the other hand has to innovate everything by themselfs in-house. They've made some of the best audio equipment in the world such as the legendary mdr10 made from real wood.
either way AKG is a well known brand probably one of the best brands in the world. I'm not surprised if samsung has stellar soudn quality from now on.
sony needs to step up its game.

Some really great earphones doesn't have flat wires, metal encasings like Sennheiser Momentum In-Ears and Shure SE215. Learn a few things about earphones and headphones and then call someone as a kid.

And Sony is legendary in that segment even before the advent of smartphones. As far as audio equipment and cameras are concerned they are among the best. In that you can't and shouldn't compare Samsung with Sony.

How much loud you want your phone to sound? My S6E isn't quite by any standards. If you feel volume is so low use an amp/dac. Regarding AKG branded earphones coming with S8, i expect them to sound lot better than the previous bundled ones, but not to the levels of audiophile grade ones. What matters the most is drivers used in them that decides the quality of earphones. Flat wires is just used to avoid tangling only. Shure SE215, Sennheiser Momentum in-ears don't have flat wires, metal enclosures, aluminium bodies but still they are great earphones. First you know about earphones and their parts and their usage before calling someone kid.

Nevertheless this is just for mobile music. To have a true audiophile experience one needs a proper amplifier like a good Class A mosfet system to play a perfectly recorded music thru an audiophile CD player. Nothing along the line should corrupt the music.

I don't care for what stock earphones that come with any phone. They're mediocre earphones.
I use my $200 Sony balanced-armature XBA-A1AP earbuds and they sound superb with any Galaxy S6 and now my S7edge. Gonna use it with my next S8 as well.
FREQUENCY RESPONSE : 5Hz - 25000Hz with 9mm dynanic drivers with an in-line microphone and remote to answer calls.
