We want sony ericsson back not sony and vaio, sony ericsson have very good quality better than sony and yes there is a difference.

Japanese business culture rarely sees something like this as 'going against' the former parent. It is in most cases applauded that a former sub division is able to make somewhat of a comeback. Vaio may not be Sony anymore, but the legacy has never faded. Plus Sony still has like 5 percent share holding in it.

There are lots of companies, like myPhone, BQ, Blu, Plum or even operators like T-mobile or Orange that buy basic model of some noname Chinese company that make cheap devices, and they just put their logo on it.
One time I actually spend some time and found out that you or me, as private person can actually buy from 500 to 10000 such devices with your own branding on device AND basic package for about 30000$(1000 units, except shipping, its additional 1000$), it sound much, but its price of basic new car, so its not big sum for 1000 branded devices with package of your own design. + for few additional $$ they can install your own version of android(instead of stock one).
Of course devices them self are those cheap 5.1" mediatec/1.5GB RAM units. but for example if you run a company and want workers to use specific devices(eg blocked some options and installed your own company apps) such devices are perfect.
