HMD prepares to launch the new Nokias in 120 markets simultaneously

23 March 2017
Even though it's backed by Nokia and Foxconn, HMD is essentially a start-up - one with ambitious plans.

Not quite true, the Lumix DMC-CM1 rivals the 808 and indeed is better in a variety of use-cases. I have both and I love both devices ;-)

AnonD-284608, 23 Mar 2017When Nokia will come to Bangladesh? Not however the last laugh. The Nokias I mentioned are capable on tripods of recording as much detail in very fine detailed fabrics like silk and muslin, as is the D800 nikon. I own and use both. The Nokias in addition have the distinct advantage in poor light of far greater depth of field. All we need now is a new bulkier Nokia with a proper lens with apertures, instead of a single wide-open option.

Like you I used to laugh too , but now use them for specifically demanding fine work. It took me 5 copies to get a 1020 with a sharp lens, but it is well worth it.

This is nothing to do with nokia, this is hmd making an android phone, JUST CALLING IT nokia, to take money off of old nokia fans for A.N.OTHER android phone.
Of which they could buy any android phone without the hype.Wonder if this is a cunning reroute by microsoft, after failing with the old direction ?

(#For People who r criticising HMD).....Nokia at its prime era built windows plastic smartphone which didn't provided a great user experience.... Now HMD seems to be doing alot justice to Nokia's name by building a top notch metal phone with stock android.... What else one could expect from a startup.... Speaking of new Nokia 6 durability watch (jerryrigeverything) in YouTube....

Nokia was King when the Battle was Nokia vs [1] Sony Ericsson
                          then it became
Nokia Vs [3] Sony Ericsson vs Blackberry Vs Motorola
                          the it became
Nokia vs [8] Sony Ericsson vs Blackberry Vs Motorola vs Lg vs Apple vs others
then we all know the battle became
                          Nokia vs Android vs iOS
so it went on to differentiate itself with Windows
after that many Android OEMs were born and died in just 5-10 years
Now Nokia trying to be Nostalgic but its fighting its previous battle again
Nokia vs Android OEMs vs iOS

Nokia cannot win this battle with one sword
Nokia should fight this with two
                          Nokia Smartphones - Android, Tizen
                          Nokia Workphones - Windows

                          People needs options...

While Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Sony and others are still in the camera race, Nokia has reached the finish line with the 808.. The image produced by 808 is so stunning that it is unrivaled till today even after 5 years since its launch.. It is going to take another 5 years until the others can catch up with the quality of 808's image
