Yeah so that means in the UK. It's Gunner be £500 price tag for a mid range phone.

I can't understand why people can't get it. HMD is basically Nokia, 90% + of the people who work for HMD are ex-Nokia workers. HMD is in Finland not China. So the new Nokia phones is designed in Finland by HMD, approved by Nokia and manufactured by Foxconn in China. Exactly the way Apple do with their phones and nobody seems to have a problem with that.
I see HMD just like Samsung electronics part of the main company but managed as a separate company.

Even night shots can be very good with tripod. A low-to-mid-tier dSLR or mirrorless with kit lens are not that way ahead of those 2 phones.

I salute HMD for what they want to offer: budget, well build nexuses. I will buy a couple of models given the price and if they keep up with the updates and the test of time they should be fine on the long run. I think these models will get noticed in the wild and eat the market slowly. Good luck!

Nokia is good. But good is not enough to survive in today's market. They are launching old phones but not considering the price. Timing is important in that game. Want to sell a phone for premium,get the timing right like Samsung. They start selling their phone for a premium price but once other competitors are on market with same configuration, they lower their price.

I am an old-style Nokia phone-type person. I use an N8 as my mobile phone online, and own the 41MP Nokia and Windows models, the 808 and 1020 Nokias, and I would say that the brands reputation as a phone, and as a cameraphone is founded on these machines, no question. Even my N8, that I bought for £50 secondhand works extremely reliably well, and its huge 12MP sensor ensures its results are at least as good as, say, the current iPhone 12MP sensor's are, and the Zeiss Tessar is probably better than what Apple has.
The 808 and the 1020 Have 41megapixel sensors, and these are large sensors capable in good light of resolving as much detail as can a 36MP DSLR.
Now, when the 6 becomes available it wont be as good fpr photographs at all. It will have the usual anybody's Android interface and certainly can therefore compete with Samsung Oppo LG, Apple Huawei etc. etc. but that's about it.
So unless this new company DO launch large sensor models in imitation of their Nokia and Windows forebears, there is not going to be ANY compelling reason to prefer them over the others except on price, and possibly exquisite design and useability- if they acheive these two.
Personally I shall wait and see if the large sensor quality cameraphone makes a return, or a 3D videophone with twin cameras separated at either end of the phone (why not already-its an ideal shape and you can make sure the distance equals that of our eyes?) on a 9x18 shaped longer camera like the new LG- the only company innovating at all right now.

I like it! Nokia will come and grab the market share from other shrinking manufacturers, no need to mention names, you know who. Those little puddles gonna dry up quickly, haha.

Too much Nokia all over the world is never a bad thing. Nokia has sold multiple phones at over 100M and they probably last longer than Logan. Achieving immortality since 1865.
We need to get rid of the Apple disease and Samsung plague with a cure called Nokia. We don't want phones to die faster than Sean Bean in any movie or TV show.
