This will be the situation in at least one Eurozone country, unfortunately.

What makes phones stand out in the "getting things done faster and more efficiently" stakes, is the ability to customize and automate, something IOS is severely behind in.

Features and functionality, as well as design, are what really makes a phone stand out nowadays. Apple lags behind here because of its controlling nature and lack of innovation. Updates are not an issue as the Android model means these generally come to Android first via app updates, while IOS users have to wait years for Apple to incorporate them into IOS.

That depends on user needs as well. Not everyone needs the tons of overwhelming features from android. On the other hand, raw speed is a factor which everyone is looking for. Higher resolution screens kills battery and the ability to control the way the screen looks are very personal preferences too. As long as the phone locks and is secured, most of the users are happy with that.

Surprisingly, an iPhone can work so much better with merely 2GB of ram with animations turned on while Android needs 4GB of rams and counting in order to work smoothly. iPhone gets prompt updates while Android phones tends to get left behind easily by the OEMs. These are some of the key features that attracts people to stay with the iPhone.

LOL... what a joke. iPhone can ... moreSpeed is just one aspect of a phone and is also relative to the capabilities, features and functions of a phone. iPhones have raw speed yes, but lesser capabilities, features and functions than comparable Android phones. For instance, their design is old, the latest phones pack more in lighter more compact packages relative to their screen size, they are bottom of the pile in this area. They also lack higher resolution screens and the ability to control the way the screen looks. iPhones do not have modern fast charging capabilities, wireless charging, have only just got IP certification for protection and a lower form than comparable phones. Memory size both RAM and memory is also way behind its Android counterparts. Then take IOS it is always behind Android in features and functionality and way behind on customization.

TBH, Android OS is still in a high mess when comes to memory management and battery consumption. But getting an over-priced Android like S8 is really a very dumb thing to do so, plus we are not even sure it is still safe for consumer consumption.

1000 USD to open 100mb apps, to look at witter, whatsapp and a camera which is nowhere near a standalone camera. and in two years time it would be a total garbage as mobile industry runs fast. with this money I would buy a proper ultrabook that would last 5 years.

It's probably still going to sell better than any 2017 flagship.

Sorry samsung, your flagship smartphones has became more ridiculously expensive each year. Nokia will rip apart your company this year no matter what. Hope your battery exploded issue in note 7 is not something that will happens again in your new galaxy s8/+... and sorry for my bad english.

AnonD-638825, 24 Mar 2017I already stated microSD storage isnt appropriate nor will ... moreMicro SD is about storing your data , it's not about running apps at all, so I honestly don't know what you're talking about. SD storage continuously expands too, so in two years time you may be able to get 512GB to your phone, how are you going to expand the non-removable storage?

BTW the same arguments exists for batteries. It's ridiculous to expect to make it one a single battery for extensive time. You're pretty much forced to change your phones semi-regularly despite (the phones) offering less and less upside as compared to what they used to (offer).

So yeah the removal of SD and Battery pretty much tarnished the brand when S6 was out. Samsung has still to post the sales of a phone like the S4... But they don't seem to care at this point...

AnonD-638825, 24 Mar 2017And you forgot expandable memory isnt anywhere near as fast... moremicro sd cards may not be as fast as ufs and other internal storage but they are still suitable for playing video music and games perfectly fine, with transfer speeds of 100MB/s and wrote speeds of 90MB/s and these cards are perfectly fine for recording/playing 4k video so what is the problem? with them? i do however share the feeling that we should be seeing UFS card slots, especially considering samsung have developed a multi port which is able to accept both UFS and micro sd, perhaps with the note 8 we will see it

                                Samsung, just f**ng people's pockets.

On the other hand, now that you mention it, it would be nice to see more NVME controllers on smartphones for SATA3 SSD speeds on all flagships for sure. That and the UFS 2.0 external card slot will come in handy for future flagships, but for now, 32GB of internal storage is a joke at prices of 800€+ and should not even be considered, but thats just for me and ill just stick with whatever has it.
