I actually really like the direction Nokia is going. Great hardware and 100% vanilla Android. It's like having Google's own branded phone that doesn't look like crap. The new Pixel phones, even though I like HTC in general, they made some ugly a** design. And it's not particularly durable either. Nokia 6 doesn't stand out by anything in particular feature wise, but it's just a damn good phone in general. Super durable, good screen, good camera, no bloat. People asked for this a lot. If I didn't have phone that satisfies my current needs, I'd grab Nokia 6 in a heartbeat.

    Function dictates form. When you have to put a screen, some buttons, speakers, camera, mics, and jacks every time, there isn't much room for creativity.

Their audio quality has worsen over time and both lg and htc has beaten them to the bunch, heck even chinese oem even surpassed them. Sony xperia xz was a average phone compare to other flagship. Upcoming Sony xperia premium xz is going to get destroyed by samsung galaxy s8 and the rumored oneplus 4.

I like sony's XZs very good optimization of software.
        Samsung is good in business like they bought all the stock of SD835 (tho they have their own Processor) so that no other phone would be able to release for next quarter, mostly i hate their design language almost all of their phone same design. Again S7 was really good best part is low lite photography and IP68.
        I have no idea what nokia did to you but wait for it launch its flagship, if its bad we'll obviously chose other brands over it. To keep it simple have an open mind and let it try.

SnapDragon 430 isn't powerful enough to compete with the Exynos 7880 of the A7 2017. It can only compete with the likes of SnapDragon 615 devices but the RAW power of the Exynos processor of the A7 2017 is just way beyond what the Nokia 6 can achieve

Fan or not doesn't matter. Consider say India. 6 is expected to be around 17k which is still overpriced while a7 costs 34k at which point op3t decimates it in everything except waterproofing. So a humble request please consider prices in different regions too. Also a7 for 400 I could really use a link

The A7 2017 even in Marshmallow, has a lot more features than the Nokia 6 in Nougat. Memory isn't a problem because you're not going to install all apps from the Play Store, will you? There's the micro SD card, which is the bonus here. I would agree with Dolby Atmos (even though the speaker was placed incorrectly on the Nokia 6, but so is on the A7 2017). The Exynos processor on the A7 2017 is also made in 14nm FinFET fabrication, just as efficient as the top end Exynos 8890 and SnapDragon 820. And it's even more powerful while being more efficient than the underwhelming SnapDragon 430. About GPU is the only advantage here, but not even the GPU of the SnapDragon 430 is capable enough to run the most intensive games smoothly at the maximum settings, so getting a slightly more powerful GPU is useless when compared to getting a far better CPU. A7 2017 is bulky for a fact that it packs a significantly larger battery. Not to mention the IP Rating of the phone. Of course the OnePlus 3 is a better buy than the A7 2017, but so is when against the Nokia 6. And before you say it, I'm not a Samsung fanboy, because I do believe that Sony is better than Samsung (yep, I'm a Sony fanboy). But with this regards, Samsung definitely has a better phone. Did you even think about it before you have said it?

You're talking about bezels when Sony has World's First 4K HDR display, World's First DRAM in a camera sensor, World's First SnapDragon 835-powered device, World's First 960fps Slow Motion Video capability, IP68 rating, S-Force Dual Front-Facing Stereo Speakers, LDAC playback, Hi-Res Audio support, DNC, Gorilla Glass 5, timely software updates, most stable Android OS ever, etc.

                            Can you get all of these, or even some of these on a $200 phone? LG had small bezel just to further increase the handling issues of a phone, and even the camera was way worse than the previous iterations. Do I even have to mention the lack of proper flagship processor of this year?
                            And Huawei? What is the P10 and P10 Plus? Just basically a Mate 9 on an iPhone 7 and 7 Plus's body with Samsung's front looks. What did they improve? Only the P10 Plus had f1.8 aperture, but the rest is the same, and even then, the P10 still can't beat Sony's recent flagships like the XZ. Besides, whom did MWC gave the award as the new phone of MWC 2017 to? You'd be a dumb prick if you don't know it LOL

HTC managed to come back within a year only, although the success never continued with the uninspiring HTC U Ultra and U Play. The A7 2017 has IP Rating, better design, better performance, better battery life, and technically better overall device. The Nokia 6 wasn't a good sign of comeback, and I don't think the Nokia 8 will be so. But things could change, they might bring something truly competitive and bring them back to the competition

They design... moreyou are correct this is a work from a fan but you are incorrect that the internals go first, this is not interior design of a building or a house, mobile devices or cars like what the other guy said is sketched first on the exterior before the interior so that they can see where to place this chip and that chip, so on and so forth

                                    Though I cannot think of one it would be great to have a new take on the old common slab. Bit of character fun and finesse in the detail.
