Sony Ericson Thinks, They Are Apple and they can price their products as they wish. Within a month of release it will go down to 500 and so on. The specs on this phones is not even close to new upcomings phones from HTC and Samsung. All this phone has is Gaming Control buttons which makes this phone looks like a brick.

People i have a solution for you all. For those that have android 2.3 and a sigle core like myself (1ghz). Just buy a wiimote. You can connect a wii mote via Bluetooth with wiimotecontroler on android market. Its work find with android 2.1 and 2.2 also. Don't forget all the game that xperia play gonna have going to be available for all the other smartphone 1ghz and adreano 200 are the minimum requirements * so for those like me that dont have a game pad use a wiimote. All the game of the xperia play only need one core of 1ghz not dual core. One sigle core is good enough for for a smartphone look at the iphone with their game.

Dual core ... moreFirstly Android 2.4 will be called Ice-Cream not gingerbread.
Secondly 2.2 Froyo and 2.3 Gingerbread DOES support dual core and uses the second core in the processor.

A little bit of a disappointment to me, would have been nice to see sony remoteplay so I can connect to my playstation 3 remotely and access UK tv anywhere via 3g/wifi on this too - thats one reason alone I'll stick with my Sony Ericsson aino. Sony thank you for listening to us by producing a 'psp phone' but it needs to be so much more to even stand a chance with brands like Apple and Nokia.

This is the shortest joke ever heard.
I bet 3g ngp's price with quad core CPU and ps3 graphics will be less than 450 bucks and if it will have a good web browser it will be the best all in one device ever made.It will actually be a ps3,tablet and a phone with a simple VoIP service.
That's why the xperia play's price is a joke...

There are some real fanboys on this site. They're actually people willing to spend almost any price on a phone just because it has Android on it. Mind you, the possibility of it getting updates at all are very slim but since it's Android, $1,000 is ok for it.
