Huawei P10 Plus: random thoughts

Don't know about you but for me 5.5 inches is a little too much and the reasion I skipped a whole bunch of flagship-level smartphones and got SGS7. Was thinking of getting Xiaomi Mi5s, absolutely loved OnePlus 3 but it was a bit too big for me, ended up getting SGS7. The size is perfect.

randy, 26 Mar 2017I agree with everything else but, the iPhone was the first.... morecheers m8, yeah in terms of the market you're more than right, but that waved crashed a long time ago, they weren't the innovators for a lot of things we seen in smartphones today, I mean most of them don't even have true HD screens until you get to the big models yet other companies, Huawei included, are putting HD screens on >5.5" phones, apple was a great company, now they're just a good one with their own OS

I expect it to... moreThe GPU on the Kirin 960 has huge power consumption (about 2x the maximum power consumption that is recommended for a mobile SOC and the performance does not even equal that of Adreno 530 inside Snapdragon 821). So, if you plan on using apps that start using the GPU a little bit more then your battery-life will suffer a lot even if the CPU itself is quite power efficient. That is documented in both Anantech review of the Kirin 960 and NotebookCheck in the review of P10.

I have enjoyed the dual camera set up since the One M8 and I would love to give Huawei's version a shot.

I'm eagerly waiting for the P10 Plus review. I expect it to be excellent. But the new EMUI still looks like a Chinese Style UI with dated app icons. Also, what's with the ugly screen protector?!

Huawei with their P series is what Sony was few years ago with Xperias.
Now Sony is struggling to keep up, and they think that brand name will be sufficient to keep users. I say NOPE. as an user of Sony devices for past good 14 years I can say one think: Jump to Huawei if you want new phone and you where fan of Sony.

5.1" is small? What can you say about the iPhone 7 display size then? That's small. 5.1" is the perfect phone screen size. It's neither big nor small. Anything larger is phablet size.
And how is QHD on 5.5" overkill? The XZ Premium has 4k resolution on the same screen size. That's overkill.

I have a Huawei p9 I used it already for 9 months. so far I haven't experienced an issue using the phone, they said that Huawei is far behind the other OEMs, Huawei is the third place for most profitable OEM so where is SONY? ONEPLUS?LG?HTC?LENOVO?MEOWMI?GOOGLE are u there?ASUS?MOTOROLA?
