I totally agree with you. Maybe if consumers stop rushing to purchase these new smartphones when they have a perfect usable older one, manufacturers might be forced o lower prices sooner rather than later.

I totally agree with you. I have a S5 for 2 years 5 months now and it's working like a charm. Never had to do a battery pull much yet take it to a repair center. It's simply amazing.

G4M3R, 27 Mar 2017Well,Note 4 had 1440p video for selfie a year before note 5...Thanks for that info. I just checked it out. I didn't even realise front cameras broke the fullHD barrier until just now after reading this article and your comment.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2017So why not just put the RAM in the phone then? It is coming... moreEvery claim ever made by fanboy, "The manufacturer did some cost cutting. They are cheapskate to not offer better ram and storage".

The most common claim on every Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG, Huawei, Xiaomi articles, "This new phone cost more than any other recent flagship that just released. I could find something cheaper".

Hey, you. Show me a better cheaper most latest recent flagship that have better specs and better offering of ram and storage with really really cheap price without carrier discount or promotion deals and without free gifts, and oh, it must be an unlocked version and available worldwide in brick and mortar stores.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2017So why not just put the RAM in the phone then? It is coming... moresorry not a fanboy but oneplus is not even close to samsung standard .. i feel this oneplus 3/3t is overrated due to its marketing gimmick 6gb ram which make people like you go crazy , the zte axon 7 was a better phone but was underrated phone because it had 4gb of ram. fact.

Imperator Neubaticus, 27 Mar 2017Launching the s9 next year will in no way make the s8 obsol... moreI agree. Paying for a new flagship smartphone every year is not worth it. It's better to use your phone until it become absolutely unusable before you upgrade to a new flagship.

JordanBaby, 27 Mar 2017To those who are saying tha higher RAM capacity makes a pho... moreSo why not just put the RAM in the phone then? It is coming to something when a phone (One Plus 3T) that costs half the price of a flagship has more RAM and also has the option of more internal storage. The answer to your question is cheapskate cost cutting and that is not acceptable on a phone that costs more than just about any other phone in existence at this time.

JordanBaby, 27 Mar 2017To those who are saying tha higher RAM capacity makes a pho... moresimple there is no point putting all that RAM in a phone they going to stop supporting with OS updates after 2 years. and would start having performance issues with upgraded apps running on the old OS in about the 4 year. and would need a new battery as will that they will not be stocking by then, so you would have to buy generic. which will come with its own problems that will also affect performance.

it's the intent of android OEMs, that you have no choice but to by the new flagship a minimum of every 3 years, if you value performance.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2017But the price is just too high for a smartphone with a 1yea... moreYou won't be forced to buy the successor next year, you can easily keep a phone for 2-3 years. Especially if it's from a trusted brand like Samsung with unmatched service, Apple will make you spend half of the phone's life in service center while I never needed to go to a service center for my Samsung phones.

To those who are saying tha higher RAM capacity makes a phone a lot faster, tell me why Android manufacturers aren't putting 1TB of RAM on their phones? And guess what, it doesn't cost too much to put bigger RAM, right OnePlus fanboys?

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2017But the price is just too high for a smartphone with a 1yea... moreLaunching the s9 next year will in no way make the s8 obsolete. Paying top dollar for a phone that will still be relevant for the next 4 to 5 years doesn't sound too bad. Besides, why would you need to change phones every year? You don't need to get the newest offers when they come out. They won't make you admirable or someone to envy.

Leave iPhone out of this I'm taking about Android especially with a market with tons of smartphones
