Seems like Android is in competition with itself. Do you have to buy a new phone EVERY year just to keep up?

AnonD-3535, 17 Mar 2011I had never been used an android device, what is this like?... moreI had never been used an SYMBIAN device, what is it like?..,

If someone will make these specs for a smartphone running SYMBIAN I will surely buy one.
Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor, ULP GeForce GPU, Tegra 2 chipset
        or
PowerVR SGX540 GPU, TI OMAP4430 chipset
        Atleast 512 MB RAM
front facing camera (atleast 1.3 mp)
        microHDMI port with HDMI mirroring
Dual 5 MP, 2560х1920 pixels, autofocus, LED flash
Dolby Mobile and SRS sound enhancement
3D video that we captured with 720p

but unfortunately, no one is having those specs with any of SYMBIAN devices.

I really care what the OS is.

Cos android is the best open source OS you can ever have

Sony Ericsson, hoping you are reading this post, how about updates for the Sony X10, the flagship that still is brilliant in hardware, let down by poor updates.

If someone will make these specs for a smartphone running android I will surely buy one.

12 mp AF camera w/ xenon flash and led for video light
front facing camera (atleast 1.3 mp)
atleast 720p video recording at 30fps
atleast 16 GB internal mem. with card slot hot swapble
atleast 3 days battery life (extreme usage)
              HDMI, radio with transmitter
              usb OTG
              with good design (durable)

but unfortunately, no one is having those specs with any of android devices.

I really don't care what the OS is. I just care about the specs and the performance.

N8 maybe close to what I am dreamin' though. its just a matter of polishing it more

Please dont show us bullshit. (sorry for language)...
We can not have acured info on statistic which version does run on all android phones, becouse not every phone supports 2.2 or 2.3 or 3.0.... To speak of such statistic, we must speak seperetly of 2.1 ready phones, 2.2 ready phones..... and so on... but not in general.

Cause 1 year ago the 1.5 phones are taking a reasinable portion.
As we all argue that they did not get an update since last year (cause its too late to have an update for 1.5 release) it shows that 1.5 equiped phones are gone to bin.

Once the "older" HTC-devices (Desire, Desire HD etc.) gets the anticipated 2.3-update, the paradigm will shift to 2.3
