        All of you who thinks that s8 is crap, you are blind. I had G6 for two days on test and i can say it is a nice phone but nothing new or special, and you iphone guys just exepte that iphone is shit. Same old crap 4 years in the row. Last year G5 was close to s7 edge in performance, but when i put my games on both phone, g5 just craped it self. Sim City, asfalth7... So i will say just this. Try and then be loud abouth it. The s8 has alot of things run in contrast of iphone and g6. Almost stock shit with few new things that samsung has for abouth 3 years now. Multitasking, all the sensors that others didt even heard of, software stuff that all others adopt after 2-3 years,...

I would rather see a real-world app doing HTLM stuff, rendering images, making database and API calls than worthless progress bar of Geekbench. A typical website has at least 10x more sub-modules eating up CPU and memory resources than your worthless Geekbench. What is the point of the CPU if it cannot run without the memory, storage, network etc?

              You sound confused. Apple chips crash android chips in things that are pure cpu power like video encoding ("lapse it" for example). IPhone 7 is almost twice as fast to encode a video, that is exactly what Geekbench predicted for cpu only processes.
              Geekbench 4 is the only remarkable benchmark as it predicts behavior in the real world.

Even chrome can make use of 8 cores. In Apples ios, most apps can only run 2 cores (iPhone 7 is the only phone with 4 cores, 90%+ I phones in use are dual core). So both are right in their own.

                              Phones are getting more uncomfortable each year. People still buy those bigger phones, on one hand because it is forced to them through constant advertising, but most importantly because they prefer bigger screen/content over ergonomy.

                              BTW in a level playing field (iphone vs iphone plus), people always prefer the smaller device. IF someone like Nokia was to come out with a smaller device and market it mercilessly , they would take large chunk of sales from the phablets (basically what every phone -except iphone- out there is). Most don't want it though, it's easier to engineer a bigger device, less costs to engineering, easier to get more features to it ... it semis like a win win scenario and users get at least something back (larger content).

                                  We thank the gods when Qualcomm give us more than 10% performance YoY (like she did this year to be frank.

                                  Qualcomm is the copycat par excellence of Intel. Semi-monopoly for legal rather than technical reasons, American , middling to bad in engineering, greatfully caring for things that don't natter to most (embedded gpu in both Intel and qualcomm). I regard them both as legal companies with some engineers on the side that basically only exist to give source for the lawyers to dispute and maim the competition with "lawfull manners"
