i really cannot understand the fact that they stopped the 16:9 aspect ratio sensor in note 4 and goes to 4:3 aspect ratio one
i mean come on they bring wide screen much wider than 16:9 but camera sensor still 4:3
how much crop required pictures to fit into that "infinity display"

It's so boring and uninteresting to read about Samsung camera. Again. So where's innovation, again? It's like last year's Samsung's boring and not relatable story how hard for them was to built such a great camera. Blah blah blah. Very hard. What? And this year... What? Stickers? I don't get it... I mean LG explained new display aspect ratio, the story behind it (the movie director who found this aspect ratio) and stuff you can do with it, two cameras and all - those things were understandable and relatable. But here goes Samsung. 18.5:9 screen (wt...?). The same camera as last year, but with... eh... stickers! Oh, and multiple shots! Like Pixel, but morrre! But shittier (those GSM arena samples just not look that great)... but who cares! Because we can! Yay!
I mean... what?... Really... Boring. Like... I just don't understand were the company is going with this.

The S7 had the best camera for ages and was only pipped by the Pixels better image processing. These tweaks will keep Samsung on top for a while longer, even with a single lens.

The best part of the S8 camera is the constant reminder of cleaning your lens from fingerprints, due to the idiotic placement of the scanner. Lol fail.....

AnonD-11074, 30 Mar 2017High FPS video recording is a really cool feature to have b... moreIf high fps is not important for you the 5x faster image scanning / readout than the image sensor in S8 and the full resolution still image buffer before you press the shutter button will be usefull for everyone.
Because it will minimize the rolling shutter / jello effect and reduce the possibily you'l miss the moment that you want to capture.
When you get flagship device there will be no big difference in quality and and we also have a different assessment to determine which one is better.
For example in low the video from Sony xperia usually looks brighter but noisier because Sony Xperia can expand the ISO higher than other smartphones for some people it looks better because even with all the noise they get better visibility at the subject while others say is not clean enough.

not to seem like a stickler but the exynos chipset was mentioned in the article.
although am sure the snapdragon 835 is as capable.

Pathetic i know there is nothing special with the Galaxy S8 camera but i do not think they will dare to mention all those features as the key feature of their flagship device.
I do not care how much you love to samsung, plastic surgery, or kimchi i believe deep in your heart you hope Samsung can do better than this.
For example if Sony can put cutting edge image sensor in their XZ Premium at least Samsung should give you 4K@60fps.

High FPS video recording is a really cool feature to have but it is not an important one. The same can be said of the newer camera model.
Image quality is what really matters and we still have to see which is better.
Sony always had the lattest IMX camera but not always the best pics.

Lg g6, Sony XZ premium and Huawei p10 plus one of these might take away from Google pixel this year. S8/S8+ cameras seems like a gimmick which mimic some apps from other OEMs and apps from playstore. Huawei might be game changer those lowlights pics, portrait mode and monochrome/rgb sensor with Leica lens are a serious competition and looks Dope.
