Lg g6 or huawei p10 plus might take away the best camera phone tag from Google pixel, till lg V30 comes on board with helluva of features. S8 twin camera looks like a gimmick, those filters are available in many phones and apps with different names and also forgot Sony X premium also competes right up there....

[deleted post]And Sony try to hard not to fead away from the mobile market because they are really close looking at how bad are they sales each year.. I get it that you Sony Fanboys have nowhere to go so go buy a note 7 for your first Samsung phone just to get warm up. And use it to disposed you your Sony junks with less cost because the s8 and the s8+ sales will blow your mind.

The Exynos 8895 is capable of recording 4K@120.
But the Snapdragon 835 is only capable of 4K@30.
So did Samsung cap the Exynos model's video recording capabilities, just to make it equal to the inferior Snapdragon model?

The camera software is basically Snapchat

HDR+ came like three years or something ago. So yeah in short Samsung is like three years behind. Now lets see whether this camera can outperform Pixel.

The camera used for the s8 is very good but if you talk about taking movie shots better buy a dslr camera. People use smartphone cameras for casual used such as Instagram post or so on. Nobody buys a smartphone camera expecting world class photography quality.

AnonD-483897, 30 Mar 2017Agreed. They look ugly. (My preference)You probably never tried an LG G5, V20, or iPhone 7 Plus to realized its true potential. Glad V30 is bringing back the dual cams on the front. Landscape shots with a landmark behind me and group selfies will be easy to shoot. My Nokia 3310 and N82 were NOT pretty phones. My N82 had an ugly camera hump but it also had Xenon flash and a manual lens cover. It was reliable and rock solid.

My HTC One M7 and S7 edge are two of the most beautiful phones ever made. They are right next to each other. Guess what? The M7 lags the most and still produces purple photos. The S7e gets smudged up very easily like it fell on a lawn, it lags because of Samsung's crap optimization, the Gear VR experience is pixelated and glitchy, and typing on a curved display is annoying. They are probably my LEAST favorite phones I own right now while my ugly rear G5 and Pixel are my favs thanks to how fluid they are, less prone to looking dirty, and with great cameras as well.

Good looks can only take you so far. Like hiring a bunch of beautiful people at work only to realize you needed to hire reliable people to get the job done fast when needed. This isn't some fashion show but to you, it probably is. It's just a phone, dude. You won't make love to it. This isn't some expensive Italian car. Doesn't need to look good.

And the fact that image stacking will be instant on S8 is not because Samsung's genius software team, it's thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835, which has improved the object recognition in images(what Bixby is doing in the camera app) and processing (like image stacking) a lot by making a faster DSP ,which will handle this tasks a lot faster and with a lot lower power consumption than the commonly used CPU. So all the "intelligent" things S8 can do in fact are based on Qualcomm's work and any other manufacturer can implement them if it wants and has enough money to invest.

They are using the last year sensor lol. So sad, that in order to recover money they lost in the note 7 they had to start using last year sensor. They should have begged sony to let them use the new sensor instead of these gimmicky new "features".

Savor, 30 Mar 2017Rather have an ugly rear design that produces beautiful pho... moreEveryone has different preferences he doesnt like dual camera its ok I know some dual cameras are pretty useful like front wide angle camera on v10 and v20 great for taking selfies but on the back its not that useful people can use panaroma to capture scenery and dual camera like on mate9 and p10 are great for low light shooting but those bokeh effect cameras they are useless to me

The camera is great but could be even better. Hopefully it's upgraded for the Note 8.

multi frame? other phones has same feature . i forgot the phones that uses the same method.

                            hmmm...more oversaturated pictures

Another shallow GSM Arena commenter that knows nothing on how to be practical. Would rather look good than better.

Ever since 2004 when I got disappointed by a Motorola V600, I realized design don't matter. Rather have an ugly phone that is reliable and useful than a pretty paperweight.

Dual cam is important but to you, the rear design that nobody looks at or covers with a case is. LMAO!

So Samsung basically copied Google Pixel's HDR+. I didn't find the S7e camera to be all that no matter how much reviewers praised it. The current S8 still lacks a dual lens. LG V30 may have dual cams on BOTH sides. Wide angle camera is more important than you realize especially when traveling. Samsung still behind LG, Huawei, and Apple with it.
