Android Market catching up to Apple App Store in app numbers

Ha usual arguments. I own an iPhone but have to say that Android are doing some things right and so is Apple. These are two very different types of products. Apple is a premium product hence why apps and games are better on graphics and apps function more smoothly, but you PAY for that quality. Android is more open and yes I think Android will overtake Apple on apps soon. You have more choice and more flexibility and you can do more (my friend had a snes emulator on his). You don't pay as much for android but you do pay for it by bad quality less secure not as smooth. Now bear in mind I WORK for one of the bit high street mobile phone providers. What I shall say is this, each one has good and bad points.

me, 19 Mar 2011i think you'll find most companies compare their products t... morethe only thing the iphone beats the galaxy s i900 is the price...and some apps probably..
but in terms of usability, sets of features, hardware & technology...
well iphone really suck eggs...
& i dont think that iphone 5 can even with the current flagships like galaxy s 2, lg optimus 2x, atrix 4G, etc.....
and even apple remove the iphone's depedency to itunes, it will never catch up to competitors...
they should design a new product which they are good at & let the competitors develop it...

joelpogi, 19 Mar 2011other manufactuers do not need to put a shame to their name... morei think you'll find most companies compare their products to the iphone and as far as im concermed the i9000 does not beat my iphone as for starters theres not that many apps that would even need any of the hardware it has

The number doesnt represent quality. I mean yes maybe android growth well in term of number of apps, but if you talk about quality, it still far. I have iphone 4 and motorola android. I have excellent graphic game in ios such like infinity blade, nova, death space, while in android im stuck with basic games such like beach volley and angry birds. And just to notice my country cant buy any paid apps and only can get free apps which is most of the free are standard apps. So, still long way to go android, but you did very great compare to those stupid symbian or wimo

they already surpased the apple product...
in terms of technology, usability, & most of all functionality..
galaxy s i900 was launched before the iphone 4 & yet the iphone 4 was compared to its capability. and guess what, the only thing the iphone 4 surpassed the galaxy s, the price...
iphone 5 wont be a surprise anymore...im sure it will have the technology the current flagships of other brands today...with some new design..& there you have it..the iphone 5...goodluck!

After playing around with my wifes android phone, the games just suck. iOS games are far better. Even putting some consoles to shame.
No point in just filling up a Market with subpar, cloned and ripped off titles.
Just get yourself an Iphone, jailbreak it and be happy.

i think its amazing how a company thats only has 3 mobile phone products on sale at a time (released once a year) can be competition to samsung, nokia, htc etc.
surely thats a great feat just by itself
i wonder if you devided years sales of each company by the amount of mobiles the manufactured within that year how the market share would then look?
i mean if ppl are comparing the latest android phones to an iphone thats nearly a year old then what is that saying?
