Counterclockwise: the dawn of Samsung Galaxy

The Galaxy S8 is a big deal, but it owes everything to the first Galaxy phone to rise over the horizon.

Well I miss my Wave II running Bada OS. It had the best metal body of its time, and many people don't know about it. Too bad Samsung lost that design to early plastic bodies. Also Bada OS was alot clean and lag free, especially with 2.0 version.

DPADs are the best way to operate a device, whether a phone or a remote control.

They make one handed navigation and selection both tactile and easy.

That Galaxy i7500 looks very nice to use, even if Android was a bit confused back then.

This is where Apple have gone wrong with the Apple TV. Everyone agrees all the remotes they have ever tried have failed because of a confusing control layout. They should have done what Samsung did so well on the i7500 and had a Left Right Up Down SELECT DPAD plus Home and Back buttons. Instead they have used inconsistent controls. Anyway, back to the early Galaxies, what was great back then was that there was so much innovation in phone design, whether it was Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, or Sony Ericsson with the awesome P series. Today, it's just one touch screen after another with little form factor innovation.

I haven't removed mine from my Z1c and it is still pretty snappy. It still has great specs after all. (What if OEMs sold midrangers with past flagship specs? That would be great!)

If anything I'm a Nokia fanboy.

Z,z1, z2, z3, z4 and z5 all had self-cracking screens. Pardon me for thinking nothing has changed. Look it up online if you don't believe me.

Also, dxo is just a purely crap site. We all know, without a doubt, that no camera on a phone can touch the Nokia 808 and Lumia 1020, when it comes to still shots. There is just no comparison. And yet loot at where they rank on their site, pathetic.

Stop believing in fairytales mate. The selfcracking screen and terrible post processing are a well known fact just like LG phones bootlooping and iPhone 6 and Nexus 6p bending and Note 5 pen breaking when inserted the wrong way...

You just proved how much of a fanboy you are. I have never heard any self-cracking issues about the XZ, let alone the XZs. If glass is dropped, then obviously it'll break, and that's what basically those who report it are doing to the phone. When it happens to Samsung, they'll say it's the user's carelessness but when it happens to Sony, they'll say it's the issue of the phone. Horrible image processing might be the reason why the X Performance and the S7 Edge are tied at 88 in DxOMark for the S7 Edge having OIS, Dual Pixel AF, f1.7 aperture, and 1.4um pixel size

Once everybody gets that, they'll no longer be able to differentiate themselves in the competition, knowing the fact that competitors like Sony and Apple can calibrate their screens better than Samsung can, and if the rumor is true that Sony will use OLED in late 2017 or early 2018, Samsung will be in a big trouble. Same is through with their software, as Google almost already has their unique OS features like split screen multitasking, hence why Google is now co-developing Android O with Sony for their audio features.

iOS is fast because it's a very optimized OS. Apple only has their own phones to be used their OS with, so optimizing it is an easy job. A10 Fusion is not really the most powerful chip, but the NVMe storage complements it. It's basically like a Nokia dumbphone OS running on a high end performance PC, truly flies easily. But one good thing is that Samsung's newest UFS 2.1 storage are as good as Apple's NVMe storage speed, so speed wise, any Android with that chip should perform better than the iPhone 7 Plus, unless it is paired with a non-SD835 chipset. But we'll have to see first. And even then, Samsung seemed to no longer be the best camera phone manufacturer in the world

It really doesn't make sense when thinking about a smartphone.

The "Omnia" brand was much better.
                              Omnia: latin for all/everything.
Considering that smart, nay super phones these days do more and more things its a fitting description. For a lot of people they are their primary photograph, videograph, telephone, timepiece, calculator, game console, communications device, and personal computer.

And bad software has nothing to do with the Exynos having some advantages. Especially the major advantage in power consumption or the more powerful cpus.
As well as if some phones being minutely faster because of Samsung's mire advanced features means they are better, than that makes ios better just because it's minutely faster at some things by not being able to do anything else.
