They're saying this a hardware feat because they don't want to put their new (innovative) feature in the older iphones. Android custom ROM has this feature for years now

God will bless them. Apple doing very important feature for people with True Tone display. Seems Apple attitude seriously about phone display tone (screens white color point in different day time) and only will they can change situation. And if they will really present it feature definitely make iphone safest screen device for your eyes, biorhythms and worth to buy it. Read about it more here:

Note7 owner, 31 Mar 2017I wish my Galaxy S8 had a true tone display. Well, it has providing you have your galaxy S8 which you clearly don't. It's called "Adaptive display" and it has been around for ages.
