Exclusive: HTC Pyramid frontal shot confirms qHD resolution

The shape of the Pyramid reminds me of my Nexus One. Also, judging by the "home" icon at the bottom of the screen, it looks to be running stock Android. I hope this becomes the Nexus Two!!! (wishful thinking)

Not to be a DPI zealot, but after using a my n900 "800 x 480" @3.5" (266 dpi) I found when working at 1:1 pixel density with web and RDP apps. that the DPI was too small. I could notice the eye strain after prolonged use. (retina display @326 is worse)
I played around with other devises and came to the conclusion when optimizing size and DPI, that for applications like RDP where you render pixel 1:1 irrespective of the phone's OS that a DPI of 225 is optimal, - and will lessen the effects of myopia.
So I prefer the Desire HD DPI and lower res screen to the Pyramid with the inferred DPI of 255 DPI.

do you people know the difference between size and resolution?
Size of the both screens may be the same, but they can differ in resolution

i agree that the design of the phones in the past 12-18 months have been bland and pretty much taken after the iphone approach of a touchscreen phone... however, this is the phone style of our era... touchscreen is more interactive and it's easy to use...
if u were given the chance, how would you redesign the phone?

Two Corrections GSMArena:
1. (960*540)/(800*480)= 1.35. That translates to a 35% (not 45%) increase in pixel count!
2. 960*540 is a 16:9 widescreen format. 800*480 is a 15:9 widescreen format. The screens will, therefore, not look the same!

I have posted this several times and will post it again. HTC is seriously in need to complete redesign of their phones. Almost 99% of their phones have a design that hasn't changed within the past 12 months. They pretty much mirror each other. This pyramid is nothing new in design and when put next to a Nexus one, that came out in 12-2009 by the way) looks exactly the same with the sale color but without the track ball.I have owned a Nexus one since 12-2009 and love the phone, however, having said that I would not spend another dollar on a new phone that looks exactly like my Nexus. Time to look else where for something new. HTC you need to up your designs for the sake of innovation and freshness of the devices.

The difference in icon size isn't, by itself, very definitive...as the icons used in Gingerbread and higher *are* slightly smaller than in Froyo and earlier.
Also, the buttons are the same order as the ones on the G2, just not the same icons...and being pre-release, there's still plenty of time for them to switch them any which way. I just hope they stop moving them sometime soon.

Wohoo! Thanks. I had just read an other rumor about the res. not beeing qhd, which was a real downer since the qHD re. is the most important new feature for me.
