Counterclockwise: Sony Ericsson T68i, Nokia 7650 and the rise of the cameraphone

09 April 2017
It all started with the Game Boy... no, really! It featured things that will be rediscovered years later, even unexpected stuff like Snapchat filters.

Simon, 09 Apr 2017Who doesnt miss the times when a new year brought doubling ... moreThat was because in those times their was Nokia and Sony that actually always innovated. Since Nokia was missing for quite some time now, remaining nobody to give sony an worthy a** kick to start innovate again. But at the end. Who wants to invest in Research when you see samsesung and drapple making money out of same old pathetic slab every half a year they release it, while stealing every idea they can from others? Nobody, of course.

Good article, I used to love to read the counter clockwise articles when they were placed more often, so such articles are a very welcome thing.

AnonD-660577, 09 Apr 2017And this article is about what ? You should really start in... moreThis would be a fantastic article if thwre was a splash of detail. Now its a stocking filler and i just shake my head becasue thwre was so much left out that pathed the way to what we have now. Like cybershot phones that had zoom, k zoom from samsung, having manualised settings now.

Good article. Will there be others to form a chain, picking up where this one leaves off?

AnonD-632062, 09 Apr 2017Oh, I clearly remember the Nokia 6600! Back in the day, it ... moreI had the black one...haha...now I'm amazed to see that it was a 850 Mah battery. The fact was, it was more than enough for me to use it for 2 days with the mixed use of camera and FM Radio/MP3. Back in the old days, there were hardly any specs that buyers go through before buying a phone.

I had Ericsson T68 (almost same as the T68i, better, rubber back though). It was the first smooth looking Ericsson and if I am not mistaken one of the first phones with color screens.
                I really enjoyed it.

When everythings is so digital and can't grab something is also silly and makes me sad. Well look at it phones very soon will be digital we will have only AR Glasses or something close. So its good also but I like play with it things physically more also. So dual feeling.

That Sony Ericsson S700 was damn stylish design screen rotating and remember have very good low loud sound on these days. Walkman series on these days was very stylish, but not so smart like was symbian, but i was have both because was very popular and cool. I Was very like abc phones symbian games. Because these games didn't have purchaste in stuff. Abc Symbian games was very various not template like now in android. Was bad graphic but story was very various. Nowdays many game are just boring template with purhaste in and good graphic. I was inlove 2D games like prince off persia Sprintel cell Die hard. Also 3D game was very good. So will try buy symbian for all good old game Worms game was very cool and fun. Java games on Walkman phones was good but not so heavy and less effect. So was stylish and good for music mp3 player. Nowdays for more interesting games is better to buy PS4 PSP Windows PC. Yeah I know what wow was step from .midi when show .mp3 files in phones and you only can have max 3 full songs in phone memory remembering first smater dumphone nokia 3220 with light whos light when midi sings. That was very stylish. looks silly today 3Mb internal memory phones without memory cardslot bud was hard digital days. When starts phones with memory card was first boom to digital world. Sure earlier we have tape cassette whos have many songs. Was very funny to slow down cassete and make voice very high or very low. Also you can on write your voice on that tape cassetes and can't bring back earlier music so I damage much cassetes to record my silly kid things my parents was not happy but was fun. Oh that music tapes was good. And that players. When cassete rolling rolling wow. So enchants. Sure maybe someone feels same to vinyl plates and maybe that feeling is same. But all thats changes compacts disc someone maybe still have but nowdays is populiar hard drives like 1tb... no no maybe its more populiar 2tb small memory cards Im so silly now lol...

Who doesnt miss the times when a new year brought doubling or tripling of camera resolution and bumping quality uncompatably? We've never had such slow and small changes in the phone world as we do now. We've also never had phones being so alike.

So so true back in those days it was exciting innovation, rather than just development. Those techs felt like a breath of fresh air. Those stepping stone days have good impact on memories of the age of those old tech
