AnonD-373654, 14 Apr 2017then you probably never used a galaxy before and you are ju... moreWhen someone presents evidence he is not hating. The fact that you see it as hating is telling of your fanboyinsm. I still think that the most impressive phone ever built was a Samsung (Note 4 Exynos), no phone has ever been as feature complete as Note 4. But equally easily I can trash the company for growing too out of touch.

And while multitasking becomes better due to the longer screen, it does not see prime use. To boost a secondary feature -therefore- they harm a primary use (handling) as well as destroying big part of the screen real estate for lots of other uses (media, gaming). So not a good move overall.

Lastly my first Android was a Samsung Vibrant, my Next phone was a Note 4. So I know how/what Samsung can offer when she wants too, that's *exactly* why I am so critical. I'm not a hater, I'm potential fan that they keep chasing away ever since the Note 4 (which was their peak; still running strong)

I think, i am the one who doesn't like the design of s8 and s8+. It is important to maintain screen/body ratio, but not like this. It seems we need to spend more for the screen than the phone if we plan to maintain for 3 years.

I didn't expect this worst move from samsung for the flagship phone. However, even the company doesn't want their customer to use their mobile for 3 years without any problem. 100% business motive.

Build quality/ durability should be considered as a first priority than the design/look. Of-course, design also not good(camera & sensors in front without any space in between)

I have been using it since galaxy nexus S.. and during note 2 came the multi-app feature.. but any galaxy user can say, typing in whatsapp was hard while watching youtube, because the keypad would come up, and cover half the screen, and then most galaxy users suggested for this fix, and samsung heard us, and made the screen tall enough to let us doe true multi tasking with out an issue.. I have used the s8 in a demo for a little while, and loved the display, and the smaller s8 is not that hard to use, it is as big as an iphone 7 plus, and even easier to hold... so how can you say about a lineup, when you havent even used one?? I hate haters.. why the hell do you guys have so much hate??? Isnt it all about choice? Samsung is giving us a different choice then rest of the smartphone crowd.. sure you dont need a feature like this, but some people need it like me.. i like to chat and watch videos at the same time, every time I use my phone.. so why the hate?

viveksubhash, 14 Apr 2017You made all good points... But even project ara or the lg ... moreYes, but if they really wanted to be industry leaders they sold have done things well.

I mean VR, Dext even bezeless are good ideas. But they do not get the, to the next level.

For example VR has been bad from day one, even watching movies is close to impossible to the distracting screen door effect. They haven't fixed it for years. I know that RGB amoleds are hard to do, but that's what we pay Samsung to do, the hard things. For the easy ones we have far cheaper brands, that's basically my point that Samsung puts the price but does not play the role of industry leader.

Similarly, it's hard to make a phone that looks and doesn't go off when swapping battery, but not impossible. LG tried (and failed), Samsung could try and suceed and practically give infinite autonomy, they have the resources for it.

Similarly about the screen. They could use 17:9 aspect ratio , no reason to go all ultra wide . It arguably looks better, but it is not more useful. Samsung tries to win first impressions and not hearts and minds. And that bothers me, actually it does not even work in the long run.

Samsung S4 looked almost exactly the same as S3 yet sold (by far) the most because it made some of the most important changes Samsung ever did to her phones (finally a day long battery, finally a usable phone camera, finally "retina" display ; all firsts at the time and all extremely useful to every day usage) ; Samsung doesn't do this anymore and it's reflected in total sales even if initial response is glowingFunction trumps looks in the long run, even on sales.

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2017He's right. They just made the screen taller (harder to us... moreYou made all good points... But even project ara or the lg g5 which were pro modular didn't think to use fast swapping batteries, then the new s8 screens are taller as in they took up the place for the capacitive buttons and home button, if you can use them on current phones you can probably use the s8 duo.. And the pentile display afaik is to prolong the life of the blue sub pixel by making it bigger but with less luminosity...

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2017Lol, what are you smoking? What powder are you using? Hehe..He's right. They just made the screen taller (harder to use) and think they are worthy of praise. F#*× THAT!

They should upgraded things that matter to usability instead of merely trying to wow those looking those phones in the display.

How about a removable battery with a supercapacitor that will disallow the phone going off while being swapped.
How about a removable battery mechanism that would not need plastic? Ie let them use premium looking materials still

How about more Ram for better Dext use, future prooofing and even faster performance right now for those gaming? How about not being so discriminate on who gets it and who not?

How about RGB subpixels arrangement so that their Gear VR would finally not look like a a$$ when used in conjuction with the phone?

They had a million ways to be *the* flagship of 2017 ... instead they opted to make the screen taller , as if anyone (really) care (nobody does care, not really).

Since the S4/Note 3, I have yet to find a phone from Samsung with no pink tint on the screen, the first time I buy it. I want that on S8/S8+, Samsung, can you provide that?

Introducing the new Galaxy S8; ready to explode! :D

Just don't understand all the hype with this new S8 & S8+. What's so desirable about these two devices? They look like a nightmare to handle and use daily. They cost almost $1K each. They both have a nasty version of Android. They both are made by a questionable company with a law breaking executive.
