It's free to pre-order S8 and Samsung encourages you to pre-register with minimum details. Thus, a lot of people who pre-register aren't really going to buy one.

Savor, 13 Apr 2017And the Chinese.. And everyone outside North America will g... moreThe problem about the edge screen is SO over-rated. I bet you never use one on a daily basis.
I never had trouble typing, playing games, or holding the phone on my GS6E. There's no usability troubles when using an edge screen. I just use it as normally as I would use any flat screen device. And bonus: It's far more sexy looking. We who uses the edge screen never sacrifice usability for the sake of aesthetics, as it was never a problem in the first place. As far as I can tell, the GS8 curve screen is even better. The only downside of my GS6E is the quiet speaker. I mean seriously, that mono speaker is super quiet. I have to cup my hand while listening to music.

AnonD-660969, 13 Apr 2017And I see haters, haters everywhere
"Wow, it's a Samsung... moreThe "amazing" features include a screen that is used only had the time, a screen that actually manages to be smaller than much smaller screen on 16:9 content despite how huge it makes the device to be. A screen that is 25% more power hungry (as per the displaymate review), that sucks at VR (despite Samsung pushing it) due to the pentile arrangement.
Or should I love the battery? That remained the same despite the most power hungry component of the phone (by far; screen is 70% of total power consumptuon) got 25% more power hungry. I as soo happy that bettery life git downgraded. I love it when they ask for more yet give less.
And what about the RAM situation and the lag situation. Oooh zI loved how ram hungry the Samsung UI was on S7 Edge, so I asked myself what do we need to the neXT gen? Let us not attempt to fix the issue by paying $20 more and add 6GB instead of 4GB. Let's put that mid range stuff, people are happy when mistreated.
Last but not least, toe SoC. As the name suggests (8895 from 8890) the performance gain is imperceptible. Just how our users want it lest they be confused if we're to ake the mistake like we did between S6 and S7 where we added 40-50% more raw performance. No this time we keep it at a cool 10% ... in good days. People love when they pretty much keep the same performance.
I mean what's not to love about this phone?
It has Bluetooth 5 (!!!), Bixby !!!! , face recognition that a photo can fool . I mean we all need gimmicks , not things like *actually* bigger screen, more battery and visibly better perofrmance that survives in the long run.
It's an excellent phone. Let's conveniently forget that S7 edge probably has better battery bigger screen (since all is usable), useful fingertip sensor and can be found for half the price. I mean 8 > 7 ... clearly it's the better phone.
I'm exciteeeeed! I can barely contain myself.

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2017Lucky Koreans having the 6 GB RAM option. And the Chinese.. And everyone outside North America will get Exynos with better optimization while Samsung dumps the Snapdragon on Americans with a big middle finger.
I don't care about these "sales." I didn't care for the S4 and iPhone 6. Both sold record numbers for their product line. Typing on a bezel-less or curved display is still a joke. Will never give in into this annoying trend. Will never sacrifice usability for the sake of aesthetics.
Speaking of aesthetics, glass rears after being smudged feels slimey or sticky. Such an overrated design. The Samsung flagships since 2015 just aren't catered for practical users. I like my matte plastic finish or aluminum rear. Only need to clean it once a week or two. Not everyday.
Enjoy typing on my trusty LG G5. Even playing games like classic Sonic 1 and 2 is enjoyable on it thanks to being flat. No curved display to bother me. These edge phones are catered to delusional hipsters and poseurs who will sacrifice ergonomics for aesthetics.
Can't wait for this hipsters' trend to finally go away like pogs did. Glass rears, bezel-less, and curved display all equal useless.

'Cause it's very useful to only use the center part of the screen (the rest is black bars in either movies or games)... and have your phone look like a remote control (very beautiful too!)

S8 will sell a lot without much competition until the next iphones arrive Sep/Oct, that's when Note 8 will join the fight.

If they keep this up ! Sammy would reach at about 4+ millions units by the end of the month
IF they are no sudden fiasco that would spark the S8 ( Not joking )
