I've been testing 2.3.3 for about an hour now, and I can clearly say, that there is a significant improvement in terms of performance, boot up time is amazingly fast. For instance, when I've pulled down this Android connectivity and such bar down the screen, it usually lagged just a bit, just so u could notice it. This firmware makes it smooth like butter!

    Thumbs up for Gingerbread!

            rom worked ok
            was very easy to install
had a look at 2.2 a few months back and seemed more complicated
so waited on official rom from O2
very impressed at ease of use for 2.3
            one BIG drawback
all previously downloaded apps have been lost :(

Unofficial means not covered with the manufacturers warranty. Any problems caused by these unofficial firmwares are at your own fault. Don't temp android users to use unofficial firmwares. That's why with cooked roms it always comes with,"use at your own risk."

Phrase "(or not,you never know)" is like tempting users to use unofficial ones.

Phone manufacturers have the right and knows what is best to their consumers.
