Smartphone User, 22 Apr 2017Apple will soon reveal their next "innovation" after seeing... moreI wouldn't be surprised if Apple steals the whole edge sense technology, as they have with many design ideas from HTC, and then claims to have invented themselves; a lie which they entire iHerd will believe and then look down their noses at HTC for "copying." This is standard operating procedure for Apple.

haphap, 22 Apr 2017all that interactions could be sone by simple swipe gesture... moreWrong. The point is that it can be done one handed. That's why the video emphasizes that the couple is holding hands, to make it clear they are navigating the phone entirely one handed. A swipe gesture would be extremely awkward without two hands. It's actually quite clever, assuming it works as easily as the video suggests.

Now I just hope that all those people who have endlessly belly ached about how they can't use phones with large screens one handed will let it drop already.

Apple will soon reveal their next "innovation" after seeing this ad and it's a new bright colour that has never been use on any smartphone ever.

This feature is useful but i dont think it alone will help sell more HTC phones if the resst of the phone isn't well thought out. Also if someone is wondering how this is useful they constantly showed the one handed usability in this video (Holding Hands)

all that interactions could be sone by simple swipe gesture. just marketing gimmicks so people can see that HTC is still "innovating". LOL

I love this feature but that bezel + most probably a unreasonable price tag + no headphones jack + HTC, I won't get one. Someone steal this feature already, Apple would be better, then it would be feature everyone will start copying

A few months later and this feature will be available in the Play Store, do everything this feature can do, and have it on every single other smartphones.

I'll bet $1,000 - HTC U 11 will not have a headphone jack, and not even have a dongle included nor any wireless headset

I don't like it and think it's a gimmick. This is simply htc trying to differentiate itself because they can't make a good phone. It's already hard enough keeping track of accidental touches and this just adds to the problem without having any real benefit. A simple side or bottom bar that you can swipe into view would be 1000x better than this nonsense.

Nokia made the first touch sensitive edge gesture. Nokia Lumia McLaren first demonstrated that future tech concept in November 2013. It was amazing during that time.

                          Anyways, good job HTC!

Seems like a nice idea. Bravo HTC!

                              Cool..

Only 2 flaws ... No headphone jack, no front speakers

Well, in a way, it seems very innovative, but i hope that it won't end up to be some kind of a gimmick. But as rumours at least, it sounds good with: SD 835, 5.5-inch QHD, 12MP main, 16MP front, 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage, and 7.1 Nougat. So let's wait for May 16

So funny that this feature comes in a company that's not as much in people's mouths nowadays.
