iPhone 8 allegedly runs Geekbench, destroys the competition

25 April 2017
Past iPhones, Samsung's newly released Galaxy S8 duo - none even come close to the results obtained by the next iPhone's chipset.

Even if these benchmarks are true, Apple may have the most powerful mobile processor in its phones, But the biggest problem and hang up with Apple is limiting Apple IOS and Pay for everything greed. Apple restricts it's potential because of its own corporate greed!

That's why even if Apple had the most powerful processors every year I would never go back to them.

All that horsepower doesn't mean anything to me with that fruity UI and restrictive platform. While Google is trying to patent drag and drop touch, Apple is still too busy painting iPhones red and forcing their users to use iTunes and iCloud.

Imagine you own a Ferrari but you can only drive it fast in a gated community? Or in their "i"sland for that matter. That is the iOS proprietary experience for you.

it's very very early. Even if you say that there is difference between mass production and prototype, this is seriously a very early prototype, so if this is multicore score of a 6 month early prototype, real product will score 11000+.and that is simply not worth believing. Actually score shown in screenshot is so high everyone thought that this will be the real score, forgetting that score increases rapidly from pre production prototype to real product.

the aspect ratio is 2.25, which is even taller than the whole footprint aspect ratio of iPhone 7(those tall top and bottom bezels included). HELL, the REALLY tall galaxy S8 has an overall footprint ratio of 2.18. (again the top and bottom bezels are significantly bigger than side bezels, so they increase the overall aspect ratio) . After that, you will at least have to make a top bezel for front camera and speakerphone. It is almost given that the curved OLED screen won't have any side bezels, and assuming that there will be no bottom bezel either, still, the iPhone 8 will be 2.4 times long long compared to width.
To make it easy to understand it for you, IT'S LIKE A PHONE WHICH IS AS WIDE AS SMALL IPHONE 7 BUT 3 mm TALLER THAN BIGGER IPHONE 7+.

Thats nice and all. Still, what matters is real life performance, how fast apps are about doing their job. And then there is the question of how fast is fast enough. Because if something is fast enough then what the point of making it twice as fast.

Android guy here. Scores like that are perfectly within the reach of Apple, which once again shows it's not about the number of cores, it's about the quality. I had some hope on qualcomm when the SD820/821 came out as a 2+2, but we're on the second year of Kryo and the 835 is already back to 4+4. Case in point, geekbench single core barely moved from the 820/821 to the 835. Disappointing.

That could be fake probably. Although wouldn't be surprised if the iPhone8 reaches those values when it comes out, seeing where the iPhone7 is already...

Android's have no chance competing in this benchmark against Apple.

This is not good. When Intel don't think AMD is competitive enough, they start incremental upgrading.
