Nevermind that his midranger is a laggy nightmare....
I know because i've had a note 3 with SD800... a 4 year old flagship CPU, which just turns out to have exactly the same performance as a current mid-range SD625

Geekbench is designed for iPhone, it is not a reference.
iPhone used its own environment, so native system structure and of course native apps.
Android still on Virtual machine.
If Apple releases iOS for other devices then you can see which hardware is better.
Or Installing Android on iPhone, certainly iPhone won't score half of this.

Pretty sure its fake.
But if it came being true, a lot of that score will come from the crypto block.

GSMARENA:
Aspect ratio of 2.25:1 is not as uncommon as it seems. It's actually extremely close to the PanaVision and it's variations of between 2.20:1 and 2.35:1
Even 18.5:9 is not that far off from the VistaVision 2.0:1. Multiple movies today are broadcast in all formats between 1.65:1 all the way to 2.35:1

AnonD-546038, 25 Apr 2017That could be fake probably. Although wouldn't be surprised... moreYeah, and Geekbench is generally known to be Apple-biased. Also, the S8 series scored into the 7000s for my friend's. Higher if you run stock Android on it. I imagine that the S8 will still hold the iPhone 8 on 3DMark though, as the OnePlus 3 did better than the iPhone 7+ on the IceStorm Unlimited (about 10% better)

Didn't quite comprehend your question - GSMArena was talking about the aspect ratio, which is a height*width. In galaxy S8 it's 18.5 : 9. In alleged iphone8 it's 22.5 : 9. Making the screen ratio taller.

If you want, I can give you the iPhone 8+ Pro Mini Product edition benchmark, that reports 97,201 points in Geekbench. Just let me open Photoshop... er I mean Geekbench.
Benchs are useless. In a daily basis, most users don't even take advantage of even half a midrange phone's processing power. And scoring X points means you are doing 10 percent better than a phone with X-1000 points. The only good bench is actual usage.

AnonD-71144, 25 Apr 2017So GSM says according to the benchmark, the display resolut... moreResolution has nothing to do with screen size. Resolution only controls pixel density at a given screen size. An old Galaxy S had a resolution of 800x480 and had a 4" screen. An iPhone 4, which also had a 4" screen, had a resolution of 960×640. As you can see, screen sizes are the same, however pixel density is different. You probably have an HDTV at home as well. Think about it - that behemoth has a resolution of 1920x1080, which is lower than a Galaxy S8 as an example...

Anonymous, 25 Apr 2017well if you put Ferrari as an example, you can always drive... moreI have been jailbreaking iPhones since 2008 when it was still on 1.1.4. I remember using Intelliscreen to match the WinMo lockscreen. It went from Installer to Cydia. I tinkered with iPhone very early on. I bet they called it jailbreak because being on Apple's restrictive ecosystem is like being in jail.
We shouldn't have to jailbreak just to match what an "unrooted" Android can do. Then when we do jailbreak it, if we update the firmware, we lose the jailbreak. That's lame. Everything is iPhone to iPhone and nothing else. Even the charging standard (Lightning Connector) is different to their MacBooks!
The ball and chain to this iOS prison is iTunes, iMessages, iCloud, and all the apps these suckers invested into it. So they can't leave. Ecosystem is just another way of saying you like being in Apple's prison. Sticking to iOS only for iMessages means you love that ball and chain attached to you.
All that horsepower to power the dumbest, most cookie-cutter mobile OS of all-time catered to morons. Even Mac OS X is far more useful than iOS. You can just drag and drop files. It has torrent programs like Transmission. Classier icons than the cartoony ones from iOS. You can clear junk files. It can recognize Android with Android File Transfer and had SD slot for years prior to last year. The MBP in 2008 even had removable battery!
iDiot OS = iOS
LOL at Tim Cook saying an iPad Pro can replace a real desktop experience. iOS is still years behind functionality to OS X and Windows.

Who cares how powerful it is? iOS has been hanky as hell since iOS 10 while OTOH Android 7 is wrinkle free.

If that benchmark is true I can say the following things:
- Single Core wise the improvement is great... and realistic saying, seems that ARM is totally behind on everything.
- Multicore wise it says that finally they are using the full 4 cores on this.
- If the high clock speed parts are 2.8 Ghz, the low speed seems that are on their 1.5 Ghz.
- Is pending to see the GPU part... if is Furian... I guess that Apple will break the 250K barrier on Antutu without problems.
- Finally... Apple is ready for the real deal on desktops. It has Sandy Bridge Single Core performance and Nehalem Multi Core Performance.... they are totally beast...

The funny part is that iPhone 7 already beats S8, and i agree S8 should beat iPhone 7, which just proves Apple chip and OS optimization is superior.

So GSM says according to the benchmark, the display resolution was 2800x1242 and claims thats bigger than the S8? How?
The S8's are 2960x1440.
Since 2800 fits inside 2960 and 1242 fits inside 1440...how is the iPhone screen gonna be bigger?
Can someone explain this?
Also, no matter what this benchmark says, the iPhoen will sill do less than the S8's.
Oh and a newer phoen should beat an older phone. After all the iphoen will be 8 months newer than the S8 when it arrives.
As the S8 beat the iPhoen 7 benchmarks, its just gonna go back and forth.
Hwoever the biggest issue is, these benches arent true to life usage based numbers.
So the faster claim is BS at best.
Lets put the S8/note8/iPhone8 side by side and see what they do in real life.
Benchmarks aren't real life and anyone who uses this as some factuial based mark is stupid.
