I'm not a fan of Apple products but there's a huge difference in repairability when you compare iPhones to - for example - Galaxy S (iFixit score: 7 vs. 4, respectively). Apple really cares more about the environment. And also their products loose value more slowly. I really don't like iOS but I have to give them that.

Sick of people whinging about the cost of phones.
You want great looking devices, minimal bezels, curved edges etc etc.. then you complain when they aren't as robust and cost a lot to buy/fix.
It's like complaining about a Porsche because it costs lots to repair and doesn't handle rough roads that well.

Iphonesh , 26 Apr 2017Super Amoled most expensive phone screen in the market and ... moreCan you advice on replacement? I broke my edge 7 and now can guarantee that replacing will not create more problems including Samsung! And it will cost me around 300. Did you face any issues?

Insurance!? Do NOT. My Edge 7 broke in my pock ( I guess someone hit me with something). After 17 years of using cell phones it's my first one to crack. I usually throw them out looking nearly new. I went and activated insurance through ATT and stopped it in less than a month. Why? $11 per month, deductible $225 and they will replace it with mostly a refurbished phone. NOT WORTH IT. No one can safely just change the screen as it could mess a lot of other stuff. Keep up the great work Sami!! I would save my money for Note 8 and pay it then as a difference to get it.
Im using an iPhone 4. u can imagine that im using it as a feature phone. So irritating but whats more irritating is that even Sami itself can't guarantee replacing the screen without other problems happening!!

Funny, i had my edge 7 screen replaced recently by an authorized service centre and it cost 390 €, fortunately my insurance covered it. To be honest, they replaced the screen together with alumniium frame and several smaller electronics inside but still, hard to beat that price.

I'm using a Galaxy S6 edge from 2 years, no case, no cover yeah I've a screen protector, but that's it. Dropped the phone few times on concrete but I really didn't get a single scratch even. You need a serious accident to break this display,in that case you'd be paying more than $250 even.

I have a S5 for 2 years 6 months. There's NO burn in, no crack and no scratch. I guess I'm not clumsy like some or I just take better care of my stuff. Even rugged devices can be destroyed if they aren't taken care of.

My S7 front glass is broken after 2 months of normal use.
I have had several phones last 10 years and this is the most fragile phone.
The glass is the worse election.
My next phone won't be a glass phone, metallic or plastic

AnonD-621510, 26 Apr 2017Let me guess. Its a Zuk Z2. Or Mi5 or LeEco Lemax 2...
There's some powerful snap820 phones with 4GB ram, good aluminum builds for around 200-300.

Replace screen? That's what poor people do. Samsung users all love overpaying for stuff, they will just buy a new phone to replace broken screen and outdated Android
