What a B/S. If this is the nature of AMOLED then they should stop using it in their products. And also why this "nature" manifests itself differently on different phones (= some have white whites and some have red whites).

When the pink tint issue happened in HTC 10's display, everyone cried about HTC's product quality. Now when the same happens in Samsung (obviously for different reason), same people are like "That's a small issue;nothing to worry".

Nature of super amoled? Are you kidding me!?
Is this your very first super amoled screen on your phone?
We all know it's not normal and manufacture defect
We also know you guys are actually swapping those units
For your customers in Korea since it's not fixable
Stop being a jerk, suck it up and swap those units for your
                      Newer batches

I don't understand with all the cameras and feature that they put in their devices why can't they add a spot metering function to calibrate the display. Simply point the camera to a white sheet of paper(or any white object) and let the screen adjust its colors based on that.

It seems hardware problem. But you can get rid by optimizing color balance.

mixa, 27 Apr 2017It's not a bug, it's a feature xDShould be called "Super Amolred®"

So the red tint issue is related to hardware and not of software.....
Poor QC checks.. Sammy never learn from the past

What is interesting is that often, the user doesn't realise there is an issue until comparing to another phone or device when browsing the same content.

Even my Mac and attached monitor have different colour profiles, so what looks white on one, looks a bit yellow on the other, but only in comparison. If I only use the display with a yellow tint, I would never notice, and think it was white! The human brain is a funny thing.

This issue with AMOLED is it is an organic technology, so subject to variable colours. Samsung are in this case, correct, but do need to make it easy for users to calibrate their screens to the correct colours for those who need accuracy, such as photographers and designers (who use an app like Autodesk Sketchbook Pro etc). They could do what photographers do for white balance and use a real world item (such as a piece of white paper) and the phone camera to automatically calibrate the display.
