I understand you can "fine tune" using Adaptive Display RGB sliders but would it fix the AMOLED Photo and other modes as well? Because if I use any other display mode than Adaptive, the entire thing just becomes pink - and no - this is not a subjective perception of white-ish colour. The whole thing is pink.

gsmarena mesured 600 nits max for S8 and S8+, not more.
And being an AMOLED display, the more the brightness is, the quicker the display will be lose brightness. LCD/IPS doesn't have tihs kind of problem.

Anything within the ~3000K to ~7000K range can be affected.
This also isn't mentioning color gamuts, or color space theories.

Again, there is no pure white, everybody perceives light differently based on the normal temperature (K) of light they are exposed to, as well as the temperature (K) that is on in the room they are viewing the color in question in. Any "professional" stating that a display is closest to perfect in the sense of white is measuring it to a temp of 4300K which is warm to many people (hence the yellowish tint) however 4300K IS NOT pure white.
There is no set metric to achieve a pure white measurement, it is a human perception.

Anonymous, 27 Apr 2017Since Samsung said it is natural of the AMOLED display caus... moreIPS will never be more accurate than OLED due to backlight. AMOLED happens to be the most accurate display on the market. Samsung used to make colors saturated out of the box out of choice, because most people like it. There's nothing stopping you from switching to a perfectly RGB accurate color mode.
As far as the red tint, imho it means Samsung messed up at factory calibration this year.

AnonD-481725, 27 Apr 2017... And some people are nitpicking to find a no flaw XDBro, people talk because you pay premium price for premium product. Even last year's Samsung products don't have that problem so wide spread. Hence telling that this is the nature of the OLED is not valid. I think they should work on quality more.

I actually can't imagine how Samsung can outdo the display of the S8 in their upcoming flagship devices. Reputable tech review sites have stated that they are already perfect.
