AnonD-666047, 02 May 2017I find it awkward for a company to be branching out to enti... moreEver since Tesla got in, she basically turned the Auto industry into a part of the IT industry. A motherboard, a chassis, CPU/GPU, a screen which is the primary way of interaction, giant batteries.
The only thing that is not IT like is the electric motor, but that's (literally) only a tiny part of the vehicle. So no wonder that Google, Samsung (even Apple at a time) want in. Commoditized transportation would be one of the next big things and the first to commodities cars would be the first to have a trillion dollar company ... No wonder IT companies want to branch out to cars.

But Samsung is diversified they even have heavy equipment and machinery.

I find it awkward for a company to be branching out to entirely different markets. I mean, I have already accepted Samsung having refrigerators and washing machines vacuums and ovens and TVs and cellphones... but cars?! Leave it to car brands. They could work with that car brand, not make their own cars. I just don't feel it. It scares me.
