Compared to other big cores, kryo280 is a very power-efficient core, but its IPC is a little bit lower than kryo and A72.

So s835's architecture is actually beast-gpu+high-end-power-efficient-cpu.

But this one, s660's architecture is high-mid-range-gpu+high-end-power-efficient-cpu which is very interesting for most people I guess.

Well, absolutely welcome then, for next Tuesday. Most probably the new SD660 will make a very significant impact in the premium/mid-range segment. Because IN WAYS there is even more competition there than in the high-end segment (again, just in some ways).

Besides, it is highly unlikely that mi mix 2 will run on SD660 considering Mi mix had top of the line SD821. So, it will be (probably) SD835 for mi mix 2 and SD660 for mi max.

Nice! Hope the SD 660 will be as impressive in it's power as 652 (when released in early 2016, the 652's CPU prowess was impressive for a mid-ranger) and also be as efficient as the SD 625.

Considering how hard it is to get a 625 even today (not to mention other, more powerful 600-series chips), a new mid-ranger announcement is hardly anything to be excited about.
