Killer-0, 04 May 2017that's what people said about mini and micro USB port and h... moreThey didn't remove the Micro USB port, they upgraded it. USB Type C is everything it was, but even faster, delivers more power, has much better video out support, has custom protocols such as data offloading for peripherals, is more durable and flexible when it comes to plugging it in, it doesn't cost more and it is a universal standard.
In the case of the headphone jack, there is a complete absence of it. It was removed. Audio quality is worse. The directionality of plugging it in went from infinity to two (0 and 180 degrees) not to mention it puts strain on the port that was usually relieved by being able to spin (why do you think it was round??). Bluetooth headphones are expensive, only lasts a few hours, aren't loud, needs external chargers that also needs to be charged and carried around, are bulky and heavy, easy to lose, needs to manually be paired each time, have few options in the market, etc.
It is a complete regression, not to mention the fact it is unnecessary and uncalled for. Whatever possible gains there might be for USB type C audio or Bluetooth can still be used by any phone with a headphone jack, but not vice versa.

Bunch of idiots at HTC Cooperate. They took away our "true boomsound front facing speakers" last year and now this. I'm using the iPhone 7 Plus right now and I hate not having a 3.5 millimeter jack. Now they are adding this "Squeeze me" feature which is only going to Squeeze them (HTC) out of money. Guess I'll find out Tuesday. My big question is... How do I put a case on it?

Jimbob, 04 May 2017The headphone jack needs to die. But why? For anorexic phones which shatter the moment they fall? No thanks the manufacturer ditching the jack as of now needs to die

the thing about technology is that it keeps getting better and cheaper.
it is just a matter of time then no one will miss wired hp jack.
but till then, if you want a hp jack, buy a phone that has it and stop complaining.
one thing though, apple is still selling iPhones.

I never understood why an adapter is a big deal. You permanently stick it at the the end of your headphones and you're done. You suddenly have USB c headphones. Where's the fuss? You only carry one item still.

Have you listen to music using type C headphones? don't think so.. sound quality is humongous.

okay i'll say it, i will never ever buy a phone without:
-headphone jack
-expandable storage
-3000+ mAh battery
-5.5+ inches
-64 GB storage
this 2017, phone manufactures need to wake up
if all phones end ditching the headphone jack and expandable storage i won't buy a phone ever

Anonymous, 04 May 2017Does it hurt to put the headphone jack on the damn phones? ... moreYour right. The vast majority of people still use wired headphones (better quality, cheaper).
This simply started as apple wan't to force more people to get their wireless headphones.
I'm afraid it will probably only cost HTC some sales.

Jimbob, 04 May 2017The headphone jack needs to die. Some of us like to charge our phones while listening to music using headphnes and want it to charge as quickly as possible. However, knowing HTC we can look forward to a too smaller battery, silly bezels and now no headphone jack either! I would not hold your breath waiting for my purchase.
