I don't like the ditching of the 3.5mm headphone jack at all but if that is to make it water prove then it is for a worthy course else there is no need what so ever to remove the headphone jack pot at all. Some of us we listen to music more in our earphone a lot. May be they can add Bluetooth earphones in the box to make up for it. That will be a new dimension and will be amazing.

Anonymous, 06 May 2017I won't be buying another if this is the case. It's a pity as I truly enjoyed the Honor 8. The few things to make it actually better were ditching the glass at the back for something less fragile, wireless charging and perhaps make it a mm thicker to accommodate a bigger battery.

Alas. It took less time for the Chinese to ruin their own products than the Koreans. Tsssk Tsssk Tsssk.

techlover1, 05 May 2017Now the Honor 9 too, it is the most insignificant thing to ... moreThe Honor 8 was perfect.
The fingerprintsensor at the right place, improved even better with the button function.
Headphone jack, USB-type C, fast charging, sensible FHD resolution instead of battery- and performace wasting QHD.

The only thing that could be done to make Honor 8 better was wireless charging. Then THAT device would be the perfect smartphone.

But now they completely ruined it. First the ridiculous QHD screens. and now the ditching of the audio-jack. It seems that my Honor 8 will be my first and last Honor. :-(

Is there anyone who can design a connection port which one end connects to the phone port type c and the other end with three ports allowing connection with type C or micro usb to ear phones, charging devices and one more useful device which will enhance the user experience. This will help many people to use the phone without headphone jack.

Removable batteries have been sealed in for better IP rating

Micro USB has been replaced by USB C for more convenient cable, faster data transfer speed, and lesser charging time.

Headphone jack has been replaced by what?

Stop killing the 3.5mm headphone jack. There are few things in a smartphone as important, widely-used yet under-appreciated as the 3.5mm jack.

I can understand removing the headphone jack as it increases the thickness of the device & design is hampered..but looking at the device, having the 3.5 mm jack wouldn't have harmed anything!!
