I was implying that those accessories should be offered for FREE if the phone costs that much. Get it? For FREE. As in not includeed in the phone's price.
For example, when you buy a Mercedes that costs 100K, automatically you get a spare of wheels and maybe a tablet or something similar. It's called complementary gift. That attracts even more customers

The profit margins are pretty much set in advance, each item a manufacturer gives you, costs you and is included in the price of the phone. A 50$ play store voucher is a 50$ more expensive phone. Would you seriously rather not just have a choice to buy 50$ worth of apps instead and save 50$ on your phone? I really am very surprised at the responses to this poll. Did any of you guys have any basic schooling in economics?

kyle, 08 May 2017when did a charger and cable become "unnecessary"?Since pretty much everyone has like 10 of them? Seriously, I wish phones were sold on their own, with moderate discounts for saved box space and no need for accessories for people who have no need to find a place to store them anymore. It's just electronic waste. Do you really need another pair of headphones that aren't as good as the ones you already use? Do you really need another charger to put in your drawer that you never use because you already have 3 that you used with your previous phone? I understand some people might need them, but they might either buy them separately for cheaper (and exactly the one they want), or manufacturers should seriously start making two types of product versions - a regular one with accessories included, and a "just phone" release with a smaller box and lower price tag for people who really don't need, or (like me) even don't want more accessories because they have nothing to do with them.

Considering that you pay 500-1000 bucks on a phone, it should have:
- Charger + USB cable
- Headphones
- SD card (class 10)
- Wireless charger or docking station (if available)
- Case and bumper
- Bluetooth speaker
- Maybe a voucher for playstore
- Cloth for cleaning

Phones are just boring now they mostly look the same and mostly have the same content nothing to get excited about any more! It's just a band choice now with the over top pricing to go with it.

mir, 08 May 2017Its actually just tuned by AKG and still made by Samsung.Tuned by AKG is a marketing term lol they are original AKG brand headphones worth $100 made by AKG and with real AKG branding. Tho AKG is owned by Samsung now.

Used to be more exciting checking what you got in the box than the phone itself,seems the more expensive the phone the less you get,back in the Nokia day you got so much stuff and most was pretty cool things in the box and the phones were a lot cheaper too and networks would sweeten the deals too but not anymore....

if the phone's expensive then including everything but the kitchen sink is a must. you spent a lot of money, then you better get your money's worth. (assuming the extra goodies didn't contribute that much to the tag)
opposite goes for cheap phones as well. don't whine if they cant include $30 headphones with a $100-200 phone.

Do that many people really want crap headphones? I bought 180€ headphones that i can use on any device, I usually trash EVERY other headphone that comes with a phone and am not willing to pay 50€ more for a pair of phones worth 10€. But since most people think beats headphones are top tier nothing shocks me anymore...

See at Sennheiser or Shure and many more. Beside, htc 10 have enough high current to drive 150 ohms headphones. Anyway...leave these aspects alone. The problem is at least half of smartphone users didn't listen music or anything at headphones. For them it is a real waste to put 100 euro headphones in the box of their new smartphone. They will not use headphones anymore. Never. My friends didn't listen anything at headphones at their mobile.
