AnonD-2815, 08 Apr 2011I dont trust these predictions.. Symbian phones sell like h... morei am from india and people here are diehard nokia fans but only when it comes to non touchscreen phones...the nokia spell is breaking very fast indeed..i went to a store to purchase an entry level smartphone for my sis and the retailer showed me only android handsets..i was quite amazed but the salesman told me that 90% of smartphones they've sold in the past few months are androids!!!
So a little advice to you, WAKE UP...

For now Android is the king of phone market, and this is simple, they have Motorola, Samsung, HTC, LG and more on their side...remember divide and conquer! In not matter of..who's bests OS, is marketing, money, numbers, plain and simple.

Now for Nokia have a medium term vision with Microsoft, if they do phones just for microsoft this will be the same history of Apple but the benefits will be good and specially for the customers, since there will be full 100% compatible phones with Microsoft OS, and Nokia will be loyal to MS since Nokia give their back to Android and need a new OS to compete directly with iOS and Android, and they will continue supporting Symbian-Maemo-Meego software, specially for low-budget phones and new high en Symbian, they will continue to support S40, S60, since the benefits are really strong to entry level markets, for other hand Microsoft need a strong companie like Nokia to grow in the phone OS market and they need a loyal one than don't goint to betray them for going to other OS like Android...this will be a brutal partnership...so, maybe nokia will have something in hands to do this, and I don't think this is just a...desesperate move for surviving!

I rarely see people use Android phones today. I travel and meet different kind of people. Mostly use Nokia since it's the most user friendly. But in the business world, most are iOS and Androids. But not all people are businessmen. Get what I mean?............... In fact, not 1% of the world knows GSM ARENA.. So I don't think these predictions are accurate.. :-)

I hope to see some decent android devices with xenon flash before 2015. It's absord they spend so much on cpu and you can't take a decent picture after dark.

                Still with Satio...

AnonD-2815, 08 Apr 2011I dont trust these predictions.. Symbian phones sell like h... moreI beg to differ. I am in Singapore, and i don't see symbian phones flying off the shelves like you mentioned. There used to be Nokia exclusive shops but they are barely any now. The major carriers have got minimal symbian phones whilst the majority are android.
My Nokia phones didn't last long for your information. They all die within 2 years, same as any phones i have been using.

android is really a cheap crap. it need those funny 1ghz and dualcore cpu for normal use.. it just like with vista. android will destroy itself in couple of years. and updates... for what? is it really an os with so many mistakes? of course it is...

Symbian and iOS are much better, symbian is simple and minimalistic just like the phone OS should be. iOS is very good media OS, pure fun.

And Shrek'oid? leaky.. with everything and also nothing.. YOu will so your phone account after a month of using android.. ;)

The bad thing is also that there is no alternative for android. iOS is to expensive for many ppl and nokia has only 2 top smartphoens... it's sad..

while i agree with the general trend, i say for certain that there is no way symbianis dropping to just 18% this year. not a chance in hell. 3 year old 5800s are still flying off shelves. if nokia release a couple of budget s3 mobile this quater, symbian just might hold on to the lead for another year.

No shit sherlock people. Of course it will rule. Android is on every brand and network. It's not hard to rule the phone market and beat out Nokia and Symbian when you have Android on HTC, LG, SE, Motorola, Samsung, Acer, and others. You got millions of different phone brands taking on one brand using one OS. Android is so overrated and has you people brainwashed. It's not that great of an OS quality wise.
