6,9" and at least 82mm wide. The width is more important, and it should be avout 80-90 mm wide.

5" is the most friendly and easy to use with one hand. The price would also go with the user friendly.

But I can also live with something having a 5.2-5.3" display like my G5 which feels great in the hand. It really depends on the dimensions and also if it is sharp edges or not. Some phones like the boxy iPhone 5 design series doesn't feel right to me compared to a 4.5" Moto E 4G. And I don't like curved displays either.
4.5-5" tends to have the ideal height. Width, I like any phone not beyond 70mm. Another important factor is the weight of the phone. It is why I went for the PS Vita slim over the og. The og phat looks better but I hated how heavy it felt when playing it while lying in bed. The Vita slim just feels nicer for me to hold although it feels kinda cheap. My V20 does start to feel heavy after awhile.
I can live with any phone ranging from 4.5" to 5.3". The S7 edge also feels good in my hand but the curved display is what brings it down even though it helps shorten the width.

DantE O2, 15 May 2017i told you last time GSMARENA with the same poll, most ppl ... moreI'm 185cm and although the z3 was fine. Sometimes my hand cramped or slipped using the 5.2". I now have a X Performance and it's form factor is perfect. If they shrunk bezels 5.2 would be fine as well.

What is right for 1 person isn't necessarily right for another. I like handsets bigger than 6" other like them smaller than 5". A poll like this is pointless really because reading through the comments you get the haters for big handsets and the haters for the little handsets. There is no correct or ideal size. I waited and waited for the right sized device and plumped for the Huawei Honor Note 8. Not perfect, but nice size for me at least. When manufacturers cater for everyone that's when they can capture EVERYONE £'s $'s etc. Correct? Waiting for the next BIG device. Not Huawei though as I don't like EMUI. Great hardware though.

4.7" with compact bezels and thin body ( under 8 mm ) After using over 30 phones I think this is the perfect size for one hand holding and having enought screen surface . 5 inch is still good but anything bigger it's just a pain of using with one hand and even if it's not for some people , it just gives you the need of holding the phone with two hands .

Iphone 4 inch is the best easy to use, with one hand keeping aside, and touch the screen with thumb from top to bottom.. thunbs U....

Should've included 5" and sub 5" options.
The current result 5.2" leads with quite some margin because the the 5" and smaller crowds have no other choice but to choose 5.2"
