sigh its all about efficient.... with 1 ghz proc or more, android use scales the CPU speed between the minimum and maximum speeds depending on CPU load, on idle sometimes android downclock the processor...

Some here still have the guts to mention Samsung copying this UI. That's kinda funny, considering that Nokia finally decided to drop the original and "copy" iPhone UI and then modify it (And it makes sense at its a way 4ward, but a little late.) Samsung always had a colourful set of icons on TouchWiz, from the Omnias, but when Bada and Galaxy came with the squarish icons ya'll started making noise. Is this not the same thing Nokia has done, I dont y Samsung fans arent all over here paying u back.

I don't know why you think WP7 is so bad. It's smooth and stable. I see a lot of potential because it's easy to code applications for it. App numbers are going up and sales for WP7 are going up too...
A new OS will have an extremely hard time getting any ground in this market. Especially if it's something that's being built ground up from scratch. MeeGo? WebOS? Bada? I think they all will share the same fate... only time can prove me wrong.
Symbian definitely is losing users whether you like it or not. Just because you're a fan and your friends are fans so maybe you don't see as many Android user or iOS users, but numbers don't lie. Android users are increasing at an extremely fast rate and as long as everyone uses Google search engine and are able to make the connection to Android it's not gonna slow down the growth rate. As long as Steve Jobs is advertising for Apple, people will continue to buy Apple.
Unfortunately for Symbian, the mass public wants Android and iOS more and more and it's losing popularity. It may be a good OS, but it's getting less popular and that means there will be less and less support for it over time. I simply don't think Symbian has it that it could turn customers around to purchase it over an Android for or an iPhone.

The real question is upto when are they going to support symbian? It would be a shame if they stopped though, since the symbian OS is starting to gain momentum.

I dunno why Nokia cannot swallow its pride and start Android? Why pay good money to a failed OS like Windows? See HTC? their windows phone sales are not even a fifth of the Androids, maybe not even a tenth ! And why pay when Android is Open? Make the tie up nokia, I still respect ur phones, they are good hardware, u will not regret and will reach new heingts. just see what Samsung did with the dribbly droobly phones running androids. imagine an N series on the latest Android.

Greatings from BG, 11 Apr 2011Hi there,
well done, Nokia. The UI seems to be promising.... moreExcuse me! Android and limitations? False.
Android is most andvanced and at least limted OS available.
Symian is ok, but Android is far ahead. First reason is that there's a lot more apps for android than symbian, it's way more customizable than symiban. Also android's perfomance is a lot better than symbian. Other things are PHONE SPCEFIC (camera quality, etc)

Symbian used to be the dominant mobile OS and the uprise of Android will not be possible without Symbian's pioneering. Even I am using multiple Android phone with Symbian mixture, by right the Symbian's are the true Smart"phones" OS in term of their usability as well as battery power consumption. Even a powerhouse like N8 can trump any of my phone with same utilization. To me Symbian is a smartphone that makes phone smart whereas others is trying to make phone look smart...

dude, 12 Apr 20111+GIGAHERTZ of processor? who needs him anyway... if it wil... moreYou're damn right buddy! Who needs Snapdragon, Tegra 2 or TI OMAP? Certainly not Nokia! Symbian can run smooth as butter on lesser specs just like my old trusty Windows 2000 on my old rig. It's so amazing that 10 years ago I was rocking W2K on a 600 MHz desktop rig with 256 RAM and now, I have the same stuff on my cellphone. Those 1 GHz and dual cores CPUs are just battery hogs. Symbian is perfect and it makes me feel nostalgic. XD

1+GIGAHERTZ of processor? who needs him anyway... if it will drain out the battery so fast... and for current phone running with that kind of processor what see and base on hands on experience is that OS and Processor are not well optimized... tsk tsk!
Good job for Nokia. Nokia are more on telephony than just gigahertz and rams..
