AnonD-6050, 13 Apr 2011galaxy s 2 has no hdmi portNo it's doesn't have the conventional HDMI port but it has the new MHL AV link which basically connects SGSII to any HDTV while charging the device with the HDTV. SGSII will be the first mobile device to have this feature.

Making that easier to understand, yes you will be able to output HD videos directly to your HDTV AND charge your device simultaneously so that you don't have to worry about your video getting cut off due to battery running out.

Here's more information.. Wiki explains it better than I do

Anonymous, 12 Apr 2011For those who are asking why mobile phone need such process... moreNo matter how optimized the OS is, it still require some minimum processing power for smooth utilization. I seriously won't mind if a over-powered phone can reduce my web loading time from 10sec to 1 sec, or app loading time for the matter.

Actually,12MP for phones are okie. I don't mind if its 100MP even, as long as the quality is good.

As a side note, i don't mind having a supercomputer mobile phone too, should it be able to run Matlab or crunch numbers.

Flexibility, ability as well as being versatile is always advantageous for the user. Being over-spec is good for that reason. Smart phones are no longer mere calling devices, they are portable computers.

Anonymous, 12 Apr 2011For those who are asking why mobile phone need such process... moreYes, Operating System optimization can help to save some CPU or RAM resources, but only OS optimization can't solve everything. In our days even with optimized Operating System, you still need powerful CPU if you want to use latest features.
For example NOKIA fans says that Symbian is optimized OS, but as we can see even with optimized OS, NOKIA phones are still very laggy when you are watching YouTube or using navigation (loading maps). Why? Because even with optimized OS, 680 MHz isn't inaf!

P.S. Sorry if that sounds like I have something against NOKIA or Symbian, no I'm not. This is only my opinion.

                          Answer:
                          1) It need for such things like a Full HD Video Recording and Playback.
                          2) For a real Adobe Flash support.
                          3) For fast Web Page loading (processing).
                          4) For fast photo/video gallery thumbnail preview generation.
                          5) For faster applications loading.
                          6) For fast switch between apps and keep them running in the background.
                          7) For latest mobile games.

Because it's overkill. Like having a 12mp camera on a phone.

And all of those reasons (apart from gaming) can be countered using an optimised OS.
