AnonD-3575, 13 Apr 2011i agree the browser is bad, totally. but there is an update... moreI use my Omnia2 intensively (browsing web, getting updates on my stocks 7 hours a day, I send about 2000 texts a month and use about 3500 min per month), my brother use his iPhone4 intensively (he sends about 4500 texts per month and he has 40+ games on there). No problem with battery lasting through the day. My friend who owns a Galaxy S does not have issue with his phone lasting through the day. Another friend who is fanatic HTC fan doesn't have issue with his phone lasting through the day.
Come to think of it... wtf? Who said battery was ever a problem in the first place?

battery life is better then competition, especially if you use your phone moderately. heavy use will drain every smartphone is half a day

It took way too long to load sites and it was absolutely frustrating. I have to admit, I get frustrated with speed of Galaxy S and iPhone4 loading the sites I visit. After comparing, the N8 loads these sites at least 2 times slower. So there you have it...
Battery life reported for Nokia isn't much better than its competition.
People usually charge their phones at the end of the day anyway.
Nokia needs better excuses to keep their processors at low speeds.

[deleted post]oh really !! not "enabled" ?! then why doesnt nokia enable it, if the hardware is capable of running it ? Maybe its because they know that it would mean bringing an already slow and laggy browser to a complete standstill !

um...nokia has always been pulling attention both hatred n likes...
for simplicity, user friendliness , and a good value for your money then go for symbian..but if you have more than enough cash to throw around for flashy n colorful device then go for other os..
You dont really need a very huge processor for most phone operations aside gaming..browsing depends on data speed mostly n nt neccessarily processor...
finaly..the heart of men is insatiable...even if there is quad core processor on every phone, pple will still find fault..
Go for a phone that suite ur need and the one u like n never call other phone craps...
...um...anybody wanna take sides or battle me here....?

Here is an interesting comparison between an auto-focus Nokia cam vs an EDoF cam found on recent S^3 devices.

[deleted post]That argurment has been debunked. It is an issue with the default Gallery App's limitation and it is not a hardware issue unlike the N8 not being capable to handle full Flash 10.x
A modded/improved Gallery App in XDA enables full resolution images.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=752007
Just Pictures App and Large Image Viewer from the Android Market also enables viewing of full resolution images.

GSM, 13 Apr 2011Flash comes out of the box with N900...it is only that you ... moreThat Flash 9.4 that it comes with out of the box is not the same as the full Flash 10.x version in Android devices. The N900 also have a 600 MHz A8 Cortex CPU which is way better than the 680 MHz ARM 11 CPU found on the N8. The clockspeed on the N900's CPU is slower but is much more capable. The fact still remains that the inferior ARM 11 CPU on the N8 is not capable of full Flash. It simply does not have enough processing power.

The only reason i don't buy an E6 is because it lacks autofocus. After the E72's camera all the other ones are really outdated. Take the E5 as an example, it is a bad joke.

@anon:- symbian 3 can download .rar files and also can extract them in the phone itself.and also features like usb on the go is also featured in symbian 3 devices like the N8-00....and not on the the android devices.although Android phones are more popular these days and it is also a good OS but nokia is quite practical along with its devices....

This is awesome news to see these two new devices from Nokia using the Symbian plattform. The Symbian Anna looks great and from views from Nokia's YouTube channell, looks to run very smoothly and quickly.
As to hardware, I have confidence in the 680Mghz processor and the whopping increase of ROM, now at 1GB versus E71's 128MB & E72's 256MB. The form factor of these devices ( and for me especially E6) is absolutely gorgeous, I can always count on Nokia for beautifull smartphone devices. The battery life of the E6 looks to be a class leader at the moment with over 7hrs of talk time. It does utilize Flash Lite 4.0, which makes it compatible for web pages using up to Flash Player 10. Remenber at one time Nokia was the only smartphone to use any kind of flash player. Some want to get fixated on the latest spec's and that Android 2.2 is Flash Player 10.1 compatible, but what you need to remember is that this what version the device is compatible of playing now does not represent what most web pages use, most sites using or requiring a Flash Player are only using older version of flash to be compatible for various OS's and older devices. Most sites are still using flash player version 8 with some getting into using flash player 9. My Nokia E71 which has Flash Lite 3.0 plays on sites using all of version & some of 9. Also worth noting, in the Anna update includes a totally new browser kit, which if not now through an update will support HTML5 and if you were listening closely to Steve Jobs at the latest confrenece and announcement of Microsoft partnership, was already hinted at in upcoming Symbian models.
I believe both of these products will be winners for Nokia, and I myself am relieved to see them coming. Since I was starting to feel like I had little choice with what I could buy; Windows Phone 7 just falls too short of what I need my device to do and iOS devices are way to expensive for what they do and currently lack Java script & Flash Player support. I wasn't a fan of Android, but it was looking like it was the only one that would do everything I need my device to do, but would lack the physical Quwerty keyboard, and Blackberry didn't have flash support either, but has been rumored that it was coming to their devices with OS6 installed, so I thought of waiting for that to be released. Now with Symbian Anna the whole arena has changed, and when the first one starts rolling off the assembly lines, I hope my carier will continue to carry Nokia devices, especially the E6 'cuase I'll be one of the first in line to get one. Nokia has always offered value over their competetors, and it looks like this will continue.
