They've probably removed a Z² in favor of a Z² Play and Z² Force and this one remains thin enough while adding a bigger battery and a headphone jack to the Z although they sacrificed the performance but maybe the price tag will justify it as a viable purchase.
It also makes room for a X⁴ at about $500.

SD660 is battery efficient, but everything handle by phone now days, so need 3500MAh removeable battery pop up just like LG G5 (will get along moto mods).
fingger print at power button like xperia xz so at lower there is a place dual speakers (just same as x style which second best rokr E1 deepest bass ever)

Personally, I don't understand why phones have to be that thin. A 8mm thick phone is more than acceptable without sacrificing autonomy.

That is to say make the phone even slimmer. Say just 4mm with only a tiny battery and *include* the battery as an accessory. That way you would not need to wait to charge (use one have the other charging) , plus using a 2nd one as a spare during long trips would double the battery capacity.
And since the phone would only a tiny battery, lights would be kept on when swapping batteries.
It's actually genius as long as they include the batteries and not require from you to buy them.

The z play deserved it's "play" title for the more than capable soc and stunning battery life backed up by a pure android experience .
But now , the thing that could made it have support a day long of "play" and game is gone ...
