Samsung AMOLEDs use Japanese ITO, OLED emissive chemicals, and polyimide films that are extremely components for AMOLED manufacturing. To think South Korea is doing everything alone and beating Japan in everything is foolish. Samsung and LG's strengths aren't making most of their components in house (sure yes, Exynos, flash, and RAM are good but that's not everything), their strength is good design and excellent marketing and giving users features they desire more. If Sony just goes with AMOLED, improves the design, camera software, and give users what they want, the Galaxy S8/S9/S10 will have almost no advantage.

barom, 23 May 2017Excuses excuses, if you're just going to sit there and come... moreWell, still my wife's first and last (for good) Sony was such a disaster - we're never bringing any other Sony in our house other than their TV's. :D 250 euros and all you get is a phone that wasn't even really waterproof as advertised and the rear camera unit literally had to be pressed back into the phone to get it back working. This is not what I call quality. Definitely not going to buy such a small phone, I can't type on a small screen comfortably.

Sony was reported to have the most stable OS. Sony has no different customer service than any other manufacturer. My iPad mini 2 was only 2 months out of warranty and they refused to do anything (it went into infinite boot loop after an update). Samsung took months to even admit that their phones were exploding. I've been using S6 Edge for only 2 months and already experiencing slow downs and freezes. I look forward to going back to Sony where I virtually had no major issues.

Not going smaller than 5.9", already went down from 6.0" and definitely not taking it any further. And no, a bigger Sony is not an option. I want my phone to work and not to sit in non-existent service centers. Sony has the worst after-sales services in here, it will take weeks to get a Sony repaired in here. Not a single reason for me to consider their phones. :-) But you buy them, if you are happy with that dangerous choice.
